I have a couple (2) jugs of 777 in my powder chest, been using in shot shells. I would like
to try it in my 45s. Hodgdons CAS loading pages do not show loads for 45 colt. What am
I missing here?  TJ

You are looking at the wrong data.  You need to look at the 777 data.  Actually pretty simple.  Fill case up to the point where the seated bullet just touches the powder.  Only problem with a full charge of 777 in a .45 Colt is that it will have quite a bit of recoil.

REMEMBER, when they say, for example, 35 grains of 777 they mean 35 grains VOLUME equivalent not actual weight.

I wouldn't recommend 777 in a cartridge, recoil is brisk to say the least!  And DON'T USE FILLERS!  I've relegated my stash of 777 to C&B revolvers.

I used to load .45 Colt with 777, tried some in my SAA, pretty heavy recoil. Now I use it in Schofield cases for revolver use.

The FFg 777 is an lilless brisk than FFFg.

Ever try Alliant Black MZ ?

I've used 777 in .45 Colt, .45 Schofield and .44-40 and yes the recoil and velocity were brisk.  I used the last of it in shot shells and, unless I were given several bottles of it I do not envision using it anymore.
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

I still have several bottles. Bought them back in the days when Wally World used to discount it a LOT after deer season. I bought some as low as $12 a pound, and Pyrodex as low as $9. Still have a couple of those, too. Only ever used it in shotshells.

ya the triple 7 has a bit of punch to it
where I would use 25 gn by vol of BP I would only use 22 gn of 777 then fill the rest of the chamber with cream of wheat to compress the charge.
