Going to go hit a ignored and weather hit garden today, may be able to salvage having some fall crops.  Most stuff was plated to late than hit by hard rain and a little hail.

Harvesting bamboo here- not working too hard at it till it gets cooler.

Gonna build a chicken coupe with it. Raise some hormone free yardbirds

Time for a lunch break here. Dug about 2/3 of the taters, came out to about two 5 gal buckets full. Dug reds and whites, but the Yukon Gold ones still have leaves, so maybe they'll grow some more. Not too bad from about 9 lb of seed taters, so far. Tilled the harvested area, as well as between the corn . beans, maters and everything else. Time to think about what to put in next.... But for now I'm a bit tired out. Got most of the yard left to mow, did some yesterday and it looks like it needs to be baled. Speaking of baling, neighbor came by this morning, that rents my cropland, he's baling all the neighbors land up the valley from me. Now he's doing mine, too. Whew, that's some extra work I wasn't looking forward to.

still pouring rain here, was supposed to clear up for the afternoon, but the weather liars got it wrong...again  :o :o :o

Yards mowed, half of it trimmed. Had to move the remains of the new neighbor's deck first though. Neither one of them is in shape health wise to do it. Guy who did the new one should've dealt with it.........oh,well >:( :P ::) Kinda b een my luck lately, have to deal with everybody else's mess before I can handle my own ::) :P

It did sorta get to the projected high for today,75 ::)

Happy Fourth, y'all.

Another one of them days here; 100 out right now, clear, breezy, and the thunder heads are showing up around the north edge of the valley again this afternoon.

I'm staying put today, gonna fix some kraut and sausages for supper.  Long haul son Jeremy showed up yesterday afternoon, and has a date for this evening, so his tractor is parked in front of our house, and he has my pickup to run around in.  Mrs. Hairy has gone for an afternoon social event at one of the l;ocal casinos, and I am just kickin' back.

Have a safe and sane day.

Later.

Going to start supper, Rita wanted Salisbury steak, going to start it and she's going to make scalloped potatoes, got a bunch of stuff left from the trip she can use up.

Been rotor-tilling in bare feet, figure it's against the rules but I like the feel of fresh turned soil on my feet and as long as I run it from behind and don't go around and put my feet in the tong things I should be ok.   ;)

I hardly go anywhere around my place with bare feet, it's an old farmstead, and seems broken glass turns up in unexpected places time to time. Besides that, got a lot more rocks in my yard than you do in Nebraska. I noticed when I was traveling, seems they stockpile busted up pavement up there to use for erosion control, here they just shove it into the nearest place they want to make some level ground where a hillside used to be.

Delmonico

Some areas have rocks around, they are scarce up Jerry's way.  Where I live they were imported from up Slim's was by the last ice age.

Morning, and Happy Independence day, y'all.

Played with the band at the Ice Cream social this morning.  That was fun.  Then went to the parade down main street, saw all the cool floats.  Now just waiting for 6 o'clock to roll around, so's I can get to the rodeo. 8)

Make ya a tub of it, sit in the corner of the yard 'n snarl it ennybody what comes near.. That's an easy 'always-wanted' ta achieve.

I'm humble 'n thankful every time one of 'em misses us, Buck. Isabel tried ta kill me.

A neighbor thought I had the jays trained, Roo. Wrong. They got me trained.

Couple three times I talked myownself out of it. Finally went thru with it. Made bread in the big black one. Nowhere near the mess I thought I was gonna make - tolerable. First run passed the fat lady's taste test. Need ta do some tweakin', just ain't sure what ta tweak yet. Could lead ta other things. Sliced it 'n got my breakfast sandwich ready for the toaster in the mornin'.

Could send ya my 12 1/2 page bread recipe, to big to post unless in sections, don't think it will PM.
