Mornin' y'all.

Gotta go mow a lawn today.  Ain't all bad though,  $20 kind of makes up for it. ::)

Went yesterday and played some games with a friend.  She won a couple, I won a couple, my brother and sister each won one.

Weather is supposed to get into the 90s.  That won't be too fun.  :-\

Yep they feel entitled to them- i am such a anarchist i will buy them helmets and have early warning devises around it.  To stop the entitled ones from taking what they are unwilling to work for.   I learned a thing or two from Charlie don't ya know?  It is a lot of work for a 3 chicken herd.

The bamboo is free for the taking so i am cutting and curing it to use. I got time, not a lot of funds .

Rotortilled some garden space up for some fall late summer crops too.

Now to work so i can rest

Partial to the birds of the flyin' variety myownself. Got hunks of the non flyin' variety in the big black one as we speak.

Try ta feed the jays 'n ya find yerself playin' quarterback 'n tryin' the keep the nuts from the squirrels playin' corner 'n safety. Developed a technique of goin' deep with the small, kinda round ones. Can get 'em ta bounce 'n roll all the way ta the road with most throws.

Sometimes, when the jays are hungry, one'll get ta the nut 'fore the tree rats can. The defense huddles at the gutter lookin' for it. Makes me smile.

Past couple days have seen a hawk hangin' 'round. Went after one of the destructive, bird seed stealin' l'il snits yestitty but missed.

Fed the jays twice taday. One tree rat, late.  Run 'im to the road ta get 'im out in the open but no joy – no hawk.

Like the jays, the hawk's gotta eat.

58 and cloudy here. Looking at upper 70's for the day. Rained yesterday evening while we were at band practice.

the new blower for the sewer plant is supposed to be delivered today. 600 pounds of it worth over 6 grand. No set time for arrival, though. We had to borrow some machinery to be able to get it off the truck and stash it at the plant until we can get it installed. Might be a long day ::)

Out on the deck with coffee and feeding dogs. Noticed i have 5 females and 1 male feeding at 2 feeders. I don't think he has an ideal how much trouble is at stake for him.
2 other birds working other 2 feeders.
They all buzz the tower from time to time. Amazing flying skills

Dang. Fergot to take a photo of the awesome breakfast in my 14" oven this mornin. Taters & onions & Spam & eggs & cheese. Served on tortillas with hot coffee.  Go one of last nights meatloaf, taters & sweet corn. Maybe I'll show I off when I get closer to the interweb.

Time to break camp. Plan to be on the road by noon.

Looks like another nice day, not too hot. You folks have a good'n.

litl rooster

Awesome eats i love the can delicacy made with pork shoulders and ham.

Here's the meatloaf from last night. Notice there's no ketchup on top. Never understood why people would put ketchup on meat.

The wife "cooked" the sweetcorn in her microwave ::). I wanted to roast em on the coals on top of the meatloaf.

litl rooster

Sorry i missed supper that looks awesome. Haven't had the ovens out in a couple of weeks i guess i am due.

I love roasted and or grilled corn. Dusted with a little lime juice butter paprika and chili powder. Ummmm good eating
Mathew 5.9

Stu Kettle

I like em with just butter & salt, but chili powder sounds good to. Roasting or grilling adds to the flavor but I don't mind boiled ears either.  The microwave thing made taste like boiled or steamed, & was super easy.  About 3 minute per ear - cook before shucking & the silk comes off pretty slick.

Just had a meatloaf sammich for lunch. One of my all time favorites. Got enough left for 3 or 4 more lunches.

Relaxin at the house for while while the laundry does itself, then off to Brady for the weekend.

Brady's my hometown & the annual street dance & community celebration is this weekend. Been 125 years since John  Fremont named the little settlement he found there "Brady Island".  I was in the horsepistol for the 124th, plan to make up for it this year.  The Wife says she won't bail me out if I get too carried away & I'm not on a first name basis with the current Sheriff, so if ya don't hear from me for a few days you might call the Lincoln County Jail.
