There is a nice looking   decent shape Ford Fairmont out front and on the other side of the street.  No rust, looks almost new except some parking lot type minor damage.   Wow, didn't think any of those were left, thought they went the way of the Pinto and Dodo.

Evening y'all.

Had a nice morning at church, then did some very minor working on our old '77 Chevrolet half ton.  Wiped off some of the gauge glass, found some things that need replacing (namely the brake light switch).  Started her up, rolled her up and down the driveway a couple times.  Buy the switch thing in the morning, then register it on Friday, and I'll have an around town pick-up.  I'll need to replace the front passenger hub, then the truck will be 4x4 again (we let an uncle borrow it, and he didn't know that these hubs require only a 1/2 turn, compared to his whole turn).

The year seems to be in express speed ...dang near "dog days "  :o
Stopped and got one of those Steak Burrito bowls at Chipotle Mexican Grill yesterday .... I liked it  :D

Didn't get out to plink with the little Nagant, pretty much hung around allowing the shoulder to heal ( which feels way better , thanks to the Doc. )

'xpect it be hot today, mid 90's they aren't calling for rain , but 'spect it will... somewhere abouts ....

Y'all stay safe , enjoy the coffee....

Thanks for the coffee,M2 ;)

63,partly cloudy. Guessers are are saying 50% chance of rain.

Del, I haven't seen a Fairmont around here in years. Had one back when they were first out. Six with three on the floor. Tranny went out on it, unususal for a gearbox. ::)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Ahhhhhh.... The venerable Ford Fairmont. The very symbol of quality Ford is known for. They don't build 'em like that anymore.

Mornin', y'all.

Lookin' like a carbon copy of yestitty.

Gonna find sumthin' ta do inside. Mebbe werk up the nerve ta throw more valuable ole items, what's been collectin' dust fer years, in the freakin' trash.

Bein' a pack rat is a disablin' disease. I need massive federal subsidies for help.

Roo, The girls are just protecting the homestead. I woke up to find the LR tire on the GMC was almost flat. I got the air compressor out and got it aired up to drive to Discount Tire. I went by Mickey's and got some Breakfast and a Big Cawffee. I am still waiting to get the flat fixed. I am glad that I had that air compressor.

They finally got the flat fixed about 0930 and I drove back home, put the compressor up and went back in the house and the A/C. It is supposed to be a 100 again today. I am ready for some rain!

Mornin. Gotta see a dentist this morning then off to the lake in the motorhouse.  Oldest boy is bringing his wife & young'ns to camp out with us.

Roo, it's good to hear that the girls are up to earnin their keep.

Saw a fairmont a week or so ago - was in pretty good shape for all original, but the paint on the windshield said "for sale:  $11,000"  :o Wasn't that long ago it would've been a $500 car ::)

With the exception of some of the PU's ....just about everything the Big 3 turned out Automobile wise ( particularly the entry level and mid-entry was CRAP in the late seventies and 80's

The imports had had only 3% share , it rose rather quickly to 10% and the Big 3 failed to see the trend..... Gas prices, UAW and poor quality almost sounded the death knell....

Ford actually was the first to see and heed the writing on wall....

a few years ago GM came within a Billion of being a Toyota Division...

Chrysler lost money for the Daimler Corp. and is now run by Fiat from Italia....

  Afternoon, y'all.

May be a city trip coming up today.  Maybe get  that brake switch for about $3, down there.

Other things on the agenda include: drink some Coca-Cola, eat a ham sandwich, and stay indoors, out of the 100 degree weather.

Y'all have a good rest of the day.

11Grand Fairmont? He's dreaming :o ::) :D

& I was apparently confused. It was a Fairlane, not a fairmont. I think about a '60 it '61 model, before they got smaller. Still didn't look like $11K worth of car to me.

Dentist said he can fix the tooth I wanted pulled. Last one I saw wanted to do a root canal & cap it, neither of which would be covered by my insurance. He refused to pull it so I tried a new one. He says a new filling will do it, & he'll fill it for whatever BCBS will give him.  Sometimes it pays to shop around.  Hope he's as competent as he is confident.

Got the AC goin in the motorhouse & playing walkie-talkies with the Grandson
