Silver Creek Slim

Morning y'all.
Thanks fer the coffee.

Picking up the oldest and a friend in Wausau at noon. They are coming back from a 4H trip to DC. The rest of the family are helping at the county's dairy breakfast.

Put refrigerant in the Caravan's A/C. Hopefully it will be cooler for the trip.

Got .35" rain last evening and overnight.
'Tis 65 and overcast. "Humid. Mostly cloudy with showers in the morning. Thunderstorms also possible in the morning. Then partly cloudy with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 80s. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80 percent."

I love the smell of Black Powder in the morning!

High eighties it the radar trap otherwise known as Waverly when I left just after 1300 hrs.

Drove by a pop-up produce stand in Wakefield with the intent ta stop in Suffolk. Got ta Suffolk 'n they're closed. Next time I'll stop it Wakefield. Place in Suffolk ain't been right since the spot changed hands.

One miss cuz of a screw up. A miss what was a hit I didn't think I hit but two out the three spotters said weren't no miss. RO thought it was a miss but he 'n me don't count. When in doubt – no miss. A screw up with no miss what cost time cuz I snatched a loaded cartridge out the cylinder 'n had ta dump five live 'n reload again. Hate that.

Now that y'all are totally confused, finished third. Makes a second, fourth 'n third in the last three. The broke down old fart's man's shootin' o'er 'is head. Things been goin' better since ditchin' the 125 grain stuff for 158 grain stuff goin' the same speed. The knockdowns don't stand there no more snickerin'. Hate that too cuz I'm cheap an economical loader. Next week's CAS'll be done with semi-manly mouse pharts. If can't-saw-nothin'-straight don't like it 'e can hold 'is breath 'til 'is l'il cheeks turn blue 'n stomp 'is stinky feet..

No one was clean. The Lexus stays in storage.

Howdy, all! Just checing in again, from the Nebraska Sandhills. Been a lot of unhappy steel here for the last few days, too. Close to 30 shooters for the Grand Muster, about a dozen stayed for the "Zoot Shoot" match that followed. Del and Stu Kettle are having a good time camping up there.

Got to shoot a Gatling Gun this morning, and a .577 caliber Howda pistol too. Both were fun, recoil on the Howda wasn't bad with downloaded round ball loads, pretty fierce recoil with regular .577 Snyder loads. Imagine a 20 ga double barrel shotgun about 2 1/2 lb with a grip like a muzzle loading dueling pistol......

Gatling was a reproduction, chambered for .45Colt, we had a 20 round magazine, and about a dozen knockdowns, object was mow down as many as you can, then retreat to the fort and finish them off with a rifle. Amazing how many bullet pass between the targets when you do that. ::)

The Trinity Kid

Howdy y'all.

Well, I'm sure y'all have met the type of guy I ran into this morning.  The fellow was born at the top of a drunk tree, and hit every branch when he fell. ::)

Cussed me and my friend out for carrying our baseball bats,  "What'reyoulittle****doing?"  All one word, too. :o

I think he attempted to drink the local bar dry,,,

I don't imbibe myself, and have no issue with those that do, recreationally and or responsibly.

Where I do draw the line, is those who in their cups, inflict their stupor, anger, boisterous or amorous actions on others.
Intoxication and drunken revelry in public or on the road should be dealt with harshly.
Alcohol & Drug Abuse are poor choices , I don't agree they are an illness as they are self-inflicted.

No soap box here ... just a humble opinion of one who has seen first hand the horror and extreme consequences these abuses had caused.

The Trinity Kid

Believe me Major, I've seen my fair share of alcohol abuse. :-\

I did just hear a call on the police scanner for a guy very much resembling this one's physical description who was trying to break into a car.  What ever.

71 and HUMID here. Had a front go through yesterday evening while we were babysitting up in Akron.Guess some power stations went out in the south end of town. A few thousand in the dark for a while ::)

Mornin'.

Still June, weather as applicable.

That's some fun stuff, PE. Hearin' the sounds of gunfire 'n steel in agony is one my favorite things.

Akron. The fragrance of fresh tires. Another of my favorite things.

Always enjoyed a shot of whiskey as well as a cold beer. Hate bein' drunk sumthin' awful tho. Doc sez the factory installed liver is the wrong type ta pump alcohol thru. Non-alcoholic beer, cold 'nuff ta numb the taste buds, ain't all that bad but not exactly one of my favorite things.
