Fort Snelling National Cemetery is in Minneapolis  :) though closer, I think to St. Paul

your spot on "  It symbolizes so very much that is American it is hard not to be choked up by it. "

It is the final resting place for Charles W. Lindberg,
One of the six Marines who raised the first American flag on Mount Suribach who died in 2007

Major 2,

Thank you. I was not sure if the Cemeteries may have shared the same ground or area.
The image could have been take just about anywhere there is a National Cemetery and Bald Eagles.
I believe this is why this image is so compelling for us as a Nation.
My best,

It is next to the Minneapolis/St Paul airport. It is not far from the Minnesota River.

Beautiful image, Gentlemen.

Well I got most of my chores done before it started to rain. At least I don't have to worry about the pool, closed because of the weather. Just didn't get the water test done like I wanted to ::)

Got home about 7:45, un-loaded the needs to and showered, came in Rita said I smelled like campfire smoke. ::)

Got pictures loading now, will get some up later, had maybe an 1 1/2 of rain Friday night, no one downed, dang cook managed to keep the fire going all night, a PIA to get one going after that much rain if you loose it.  Good thing the park gets me good wood and plenty on it, a piece of oak weighing about 40 pounds will burn a long time if you toss it on a good bed of coals and pile smaller stuff around it, pretty water resistant too, makes a lot of steam on a down-pour though. ;D

A bad day in Las Vegas:

http://www.jrn.com/ktnv

Two Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officers shot (ambushed?) as they were eating lunch in a neighborhood pizza establishment.  A male and a female shot the Officers, took their weapons, and went to a Wal-Mart across the street, where they were engaged by an (apparently armed) citizen who was also shot by them.  They then took their own lives.

Both Officers were family men.

We live in a fairly violent community, rather highly polarized, and something like this has a deep impact on the part of the community who want to see it be a better place to live.  I speak for many here when I say we are very deeply saddened by this event.  Our Metro Officers are often criticized for being overly vigilant and aggressive in a lot of cases, but for those of us in the community who stand on the right side of the law, they are some of the best folks we know.

Pleas hold their families and our community in your thoughts and prayers.

Mornin Y'all .If the media wouldn't hype this cowardly action every time it happens maybe they would just go off into the garage and off themselves without "needing" to take out any innocents.Stop giving these lowlifes their 15 minutes of fame and hopefully they will go away.Thoughts and prayers up for the families of the 3.

One of the officers killed was originally from Lincoln.

Broke in the 16" oven yesterday, had plenty of baked mac and cheese.  ::)   Several friends have lunch for at work today.  LOL  Stuff is cheap to make and the photo was worth the cost.

Looks tasty, Del.  I could use some, right about now...

Mornin' y'all.

Question for ye.   My mother, and two siblings are going with my aunt to Wisconsin on Thursday.  Three day car trip, and a three week stay.  I've been invited.  They'll be seeing our cousins out there (by the way, I've only been related to this aunt since March, when she married my uncle), who we've never seen.    So..., should I go, or stay home?

By staying, my dad offered my a short term position at his office, helping him clear some trees for an internet site about a mile from the nearest road.  Minimum wage or better.

By going, I'll get to see some friends I haven't see since last August, and spend days out on the road with my loud family, in a Japanese sedan.

What should I do?  I've got til Wednesday to decide.

TK,

I would not presume to suggest what you should do with the options you offer.

However, from my own experiences I would suggest taking every opportunity to explore/expand the options you may encounter. (Obviously you can't do both at the same time.)

Both of your suggested options have great potential for this type of exploration. Although they may each have very different out comes. Much of this depends on your own expectations of what your options are.

Victoria and I had Chili Dogs from Sonic for our late lunch. It is still drizzling, and it is becoming humid by the minute. Back inside where it is cool.

I want one of these, but Liz loaded me Big Bertha to use at the muster later this month.    ;D  50 some pounds empty, there is 10 pounds of chunked ham in her and she ain't really even half full.

Did 10 pounds of chicken butts and about a 5 pound flour sack full of dumplings and did fill it.  Looks like of Norma fell in it we could put the lid on top with her in it. ::)

That's one of my 14 deeps next to it with the caramelized carrots and onions in it.
