Bad day at the range

I had my Winchester/Miroku 1873 out to the range today and for the first time I used some BVAC 158gr SWC's.
The fifth round ejected with just half of the the cartridge.  I soon found out the other half was lodged in the chamber.
I was hoping a jag with a tight patch or a bronze brush would dislodge it, but to no avail.
I don't have the tools to disassemble the rifle so it'll be going to a gunsmith for repair.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
I've probably shot a couple hundred rounds from other manufacturers.
Is this likely just a bad brass case or should I be concerned that the chamber is too big?

I don't know what BVAC is, but if they are someone elses reloads, There is no telling what that brass has been through before.  At some point it may have been loaded very hot which weakened the case before you got it.  Have your gunsmith check out the chamber and rifle in general.  If nothing is at fault, start again with new brass and moderate loads.  My advice is to avoid reloads from someone else with brass of an unknown history.

Howdy hatman. be sure and bring the half of the brass case that was ejected, along with a few of the fired cases from this rifle. The fired cases will help him determine what went wrong.,,,,Dusty

Bitteroot Valley Ammunition Company. Some of their stuff is "factory reloads". Some folks hate it, some love it. Biggest problem I have read about is with accuracy. I killed a deer with one of their "factory new" 30-40 krag rounds out of a new made Winchester 1895 carbine a few years ago and it worked fine. Don't know about the reloaded stuff.

Thanks fellas.
I'll give a followup once it's been fixed by my gunsmith.
