Been around a few snappers including the kids having a small one for a pet years ago, never saw one that smelled any worse than the water it was living in.

Mornin'.

Lookin' 'bout the same as yestitty out. Not unpleasant a'tall.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. The memorable fragrance of a four day undetermined death inna apartment where the electricity's been shut off for a few weeks – in mid August. Seen grown men engage in projectile vomitin' after a few minutes of exposure.

Turtle soup rivals the aroma? Interestin'. I'll put it on my list of future culinary adventures.

Enjoy yer coffee 'n breakfast, boys.

May be why Chef's make Mock Turtle Soup ...   secret is,  chefs use veal.

I have had Green Sea Turtle steak....probably 55 years ago ( I was kid) well before they were internationally Protected .
To this day I remember it was some fine eating...

Funny thing is by then almost all if not all sold on the market was farm raised, now those farms have shut down since they can't sell their product, stupid liberals again.

In fact when i was buyin' my maters the other day the guy at the garden center was about my age and we were discussing yuppies and how they have discovered gardening but they have to make everything 10 times more complicated than need be and give it a fancy name.  "Heirloom crops" what a crock of shit to make them feel like they are important.   ::)

I've eaten quite a few of those turtles over the years. Kept one as a pet in the house for a while hat my dog "hatched" just a little early.  Don't remember one ever smelling offensive.  Never made soup out o one, but did smell it cooking once. The odor was not exactly like the smell in the scenario Arcey described (I Smelled that once too) but just about as horrible. Funny thing was the soup didn't taste too bad, but the house still smelled bad enough I couldn't eat the soup.

Never really mastered cleaning a turtle, it'll be a hatchet job if I have to do it myself.  Used to have a neighbor who was good at it - our deal for a long time was he'd clean em & I'd cook em.

Mathew 5.9

Delmonico

Had the wee wee scared out of me at work today, came back from break about 4:30, about 5 I was sitting in my hat island and got up to talk to a customer, just looking and the wondered off.  Went out to the stairs and was talking to Jody in tak about 30 feet away, heard a hiss like a radiator leak and then about 2-3 seconds later all H777 broke lose, sounded like about a dozen semi's boiled over at once, turned around and it looked like Old Faithful blew in my work area, Jody ran down the steps and I told her to not let anyone in as I ran to the circus breakers.  ( I was not in the mood to find the off switch on the steamer at that point. ::))  Killed it and told one of the others to page Damion to the Hat Dept.

By the time I got back, (less than a minute) it was almost over and others were coming to see what the heck was up cause most the store heard it.   Sight glass on the boiler popped for some reason and dumped an lot of super heated water, (maybe 2 gallons) and a lot of 300 degree steam at over 40 psi all over my work area.  Took about a 1/4th of it out and didn't really find the piece or pieces yet.  Looking it over I'd of been fairly ok, it would have went mostly behind me and I'd of went over the top to the front when it blew.

Got spare glasses and packing, will tear it apart in the morning when it cools and see what went wrong.

Thanks for the Cawffee, Roo. I will pass on the sweet tea. We slept in this morning. Victoria injured herself outside last night and she is hobbling around this morning. No walking in the park for her this morning, maybe tomorrow. I am glad that Del was not injured.

$50 is too much for lawn seats a gazilllion miles away from the stage. It too much for up front too. I am a  JB fan but not $50 a pop worth. Sitting on the ground ain't what it was like at even half my age. I hate to have to call for help to stand up again. Oh but it is  Buffett and the scenery is interesting.
If i recall Farm Bureau has it name plastered all over the fair grounds in Doswell also?

Tex hope your girl gets back and moving soon.
