Anybody know where a pard can get fake guns for wet molding?

In all my searching of the web (might be using the wrong terms), I have not been able to find fake pistols used for wet-molding holsters.  Does such an animal exist?  I have seen pictures of leather crafters using what looks like sliver or yellowish pistols to mold holsters, but I can't find them.

The only ones I can find are the "replica" guns.  However, I don't know much about them in terms of dimensions to the real thing.  Hoping to get something that I could just throw into the holster and not worry about having to oil and put a bag on my real guns.

Western Stage Props has some non-firing replicas, including solid aluminum guns for around $50. They would be good for wet molding. I have yet to find a good one with a 5 1/2" bbl, though. For that I picked up a pair of blank-firing guns, also available from them. I still just wrap my guns in a couple ziplocks, though, since most guns I use are unusual and blanks aren't available. Perhaps you could find someone who casts aluminum and have a blank cast for you with a sand mold.

These folks sell high quality cast aluminum dummy's for holster makers: http://duncansoutdoor.com/customs.htm

Most of the better quality non-firing replicas work, albeit they are about 3% smaller than the originals - these were originally made for the Japanese market where real guns are a huge no-no but the Japanese wanted as close to original as possible so they made molds off originals. I've found that the ones sold by these folks to be the best - http://collectorsarmoury.com/

I was about to post this exact question. Sure glad I did a search and found this info. I have tried just about every search term I could come up with and have not found these places ??? ???. Nolan the cast aluminum is exactly what I was looking for. Will the Western Stage Prop site also has cast aluminum available, neither have the Ruger Vaquero, but 1873 SAA is close enough :o. Thanks for all the info that is available here. ;D If anybody knows of another supplier let us know.

Here I thought you had to have at least one of each, guns that is.
