Shotgun Franklin

John Wayne was 'Singing Sandy'.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

Grenadier

Never could understand the appeal to Glenn Ford or Glen Campbell.

He did not sing though, his were dubbed.

Mogorilla

I would add Victor Mature, never much cared for his acting.  Boy did my mom like to watch him though.   I think she would have been okay with the sound off, she kind of thought the same of Clint Walker, but I did not mind his acting.

Forty Rod

Sean Connery in "Salako".

Arnold Schwartzeneger in "The Villain"

Shotgun Franklin

You know, Kevin Costner, isn't a bad actor but if he'd learn to edit it would help. His movies are all to long and try to pack way to much into the story.

St. George

That's because he wants to tell more of the story of the times - he wants to educate 'and' entertain.

Glenn Ford wouldn't be on my list of worst western actors.   I liked him in Cowboys,  3:10 to Yuma,  and The Rounders.

For the best I'd have to put Walter Brennan at the top of the list.  He played so many characters - sidekick in Red River,  bad guy in My Darling Clementine, wild and crazy cowboy in The Cowboy and the Lady. And many more.

Good picks.  Brennan's characterization of Judge Roy Bean was a classic as well.  Only character actor to win three best supporting Oscars.  Guy was amazing.

Texas Lawdog

They say that Glenn Ford was the fastest draw in the Westerns.

St. George

I doubt he was faster than Jerry Lewis or Sammy Davis Jr.

You can see them on a couple of 'youtube' videos.

Speaking of Sammy Davis Jr,   he was in one of the worse westerns ever - Sergeants 3.   It was a remake of Gunga Din set in the old west and stared the whole Rat Pack.

Mogorilla

To me, the only member of the rat pack who should have done westerns was Dino.   I always enjoyed watching his westerns.Sammy Davis Jr. was not bad as well, and he was reputed to be a wicked fast draw.  He also was an avid shooter and collector.   I had totally forgotten that Jerry Lewis had a similar reputation.   We need a new crop of western actors!  I wish they would take the crew of Justified and do a period western.   That or I have to dig out my DVD of Deadwood again.  It is nearly plum wore out.

Now wait a minute.

I was an extra in that movie, a cavalryman with no speaking part, and I'll watch it over and over until I find myself on that screen.

BTW, Sammy is the greatest actor I ever met... as a person.

And Hudson adored it and went because of the title.

I thought that was you.  You did an outstanding job!

Old Doc

Richard Farnsworth, no contest! Seemed like a nice fellow and looked the part but should have stayed a stunt man.
