Thought I might draw on your expertise again. I recently acquired a Spencer Carbine 1860, serial number 15865, cartouche ECW, apparently arsenal refurbished and a Stabeler cut-off put in place. When you have the time, could you take a shot at the serial number?

SSS Member # 416 . . .  now you own two Spencers

I checked my SRS books and in volume 4 I show a Spencer Carbine 15865, as issued to a member of Company A, 2nd Michigan Volunteer Cavalry in (no day or month given) 1864.  This is an EXACT MATCH Spencer Carbine serial # find in my SRS books
