I would like to tour the Mighty Mo in Hawaii. I toured a Liberty Ship in San Francisco as well as the Pampanito, a WW2 sub.  I also toured a WW2 destroyer, moored on the River in Bossier City, Louisana.

Shot miserably today...

I know the feelin'........

First one, back when I was little, was the second Wasp. Did field trips in elem school 'n can't began ta remember the destroyers we used ta get on.

Got on the Savannah when she was new.

The United States before they towed her off to Turkey. Watched her leave from Ocean View, in the rain – sad day. Sadder now with her rustin' away in Philadelphia. Wish she'd parted lines 'n sunk on the way ta Turkey rather'n suffer the indignity.

Took a deck tour of a Russian thing visitin' at NAS. Wondered if the rifles were loaded.

A British mine sweeper. All composite.

Batttleships North Carolina in Wilmington 'n the Wisconsin downtown.

Been on the America, Kennedy, Iowa (Used the MA's office. Size of a broom closet), the sub tender LY Spear 'n the magnificent USCG Eagle. All on business.

The dollar tour of the Stennis.

Was close 'nuff to the Arleigh Burke to smell the fresh paint but there were too many folks waitin' ta board for me ta get in the crowd.

But, dammit, ain't been able to wiggle my way onta a sub er 'sewer pipe' as a pard of mine calls 'em.

There is another Sub I got to see and board ... The USS Balao

In 1959 Dad was working of the Film Operation Petticoat the Sub then stationed in Key West was the Pink Submarine...
I got to visit him on location, I remember I was 11 ( I thought it was great I got to skip school the whole week  :) )
She later was involved in Cuban Missile crisis....Sunk as target of Jacksonville but the conning tower is preserved in the Washington Navy Yard as memorial

The fate of the America. Seems a shame....

The fat lady, when she weren't fat, strolls the first class starboard promenade on the United States.

Only one I've been on was the Lexington.....twice. First time, she was still a training carrier stationed at Pensacola, on vacation in the 70's We were returning from Tampa, planned to see the Lex and the Alabama, but we were running late when we got to Mobile so we didn't get the Alabama tour. Lexington tour at that time was pretty lame. Much better when we visited a couple of years ago, when we went to Texas for the GAF Muster when it was there. We visited the museum in Chicago a few years ago, where the U-boat is, and once again... we were running late by the time we got through wandering the rest of the museum and didn't get on the U-boat. Living in Missouri, don't get many opportunities to go aboard ships.

Been on the Meriwether Lewis, down to Brownville, US Army Corps of engeneets used to dig mud out of the Misery River with it.   ;)

My uncle was on the "U.S.S. Forrestall" The only time I saw him cry was when we told him she was on her final journey. :'(

The Forrestal was sold for scrap and is being cut up right now in South Texas in the Gulf of Mexico. I took the tour of the U-505 at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.

I just put on a fresh pot of Cawffee and hot water for drinking this morning. It feels like a 2 Pot morning. The cold front came through last night and is stalled here till midweek. The temp is hovering around 30, with a high of 37, with a 50 percent chance of some sort of precipitation today.
