The Double M Cowboys have arranged a room right off the grand ballroom after the banquet where the National Congress of Old Whiskey Samplers can convene.  We will have the room until midnight.  To those that set this up - good on ye.  See you folks there!

The tradition started as Thursday night as there was nothing else going on.  Then we added Friday night after the Congress meeting because there was need for alcohol after the meeting.  Then we added Saturday just to keep the parting going after the banquette.  We will endeavor to persevere.

I hope our founder and President for Life, I. Will Ketchum will be present this year.

One point I have always been a bit fuzzy about . . .

does the whiskey have to be aged, or are the partakers required to be long in the tooth?

Yes.

The sampling session is not necessarily limited to Whiskey.  In the past we have also done Rum, Tequila, etc.

Ah, yes, I remember fondly the last convention my Pard Eastern Earl & I attended in K.C. a few years ago when we had the pleasure to play poker with Peevine & his Pard and enjoy many flavorful cups.
The best came at the Saturday night banquet when Pancho P. showed up with a bottle of Agave and let us enjoy several tots. Yummy to the max! As my old and decripit joints get worse I'm seriously considering moving to Texas just to be closer tho those that enjoy the beverage and swap lies about "...how good they were once...", HAH!
Best regards and have the best convention you can as I'll be thinking about all the fun I'm missing!

I still haven't decided about attending.  I haven't reserved a room.  For one, I'm not sure just what my vehicle or financial situations are.  For another even if my vehicle is ready I'm not sure if I want to drive that far by myself since my long time traveling companion has decided to go her own way  :'(

Does anyone know if there are still rooms available?
