Really a neat little gun.  Is a tad stiffer than my three 1860 conversions, but handles and points so beautifully . . .I need more of these.  Cocking it put a couple drag lines in the cylinder already and it is stiff and lags a tad when cocked.  What is the issue here oh men of great open top knowledge?

Shown are Dad's knife, the beautiful bowler Grizzly Adams found for me, an antique tea caddy from England in the 1700s, a painting of David Smith, mayor of Worcester(?) Massachusetts in the 1700s (maybe early 1800s?  wife's relative).

Sweeeeet! You will love this gun. Two of them came to my place last June and they are my constant companions on Saturdays. Best guns out there, bar none. Enjoy

Two others I have (Richards II and RM) had burrs where the bolt comes up through the bottom of the frame.  If I ever buy another, I will take that burr off before I ever cock it.  I know the temptation is strong but if you get rid of that burr first, you will be less likely to scratch your new pistola.

Ooops, edit, one of the burrs was at the screw hole where the screw that holds the front of the trigger guard comes through.  Obviously, when it was assembled, the screw drove the burr that was in the hole up into the cylinder.  On cocking, the burr scored the cylinder.

Yeah, it is cool.  I may get another of these or may get a different .38--I am not one for speed any old ways.

Dusty, the Navy grip is entirely different, but what really throws a feller off is the thing has rear sites on the barrel.  It's weird.  The way I shoot, I should wear a bag over my face more than a hat.

I do not know its age but it is fur felt and older than I am by a far piece.  It is a beautiful hat yet I look no better in it at all.  Such is the state of a gnarled old crank.

Hello agin Mean Bob!
Don't forget to check that screw that secures the loading gate to the frame; that may be what's causing the bit of drag you feel.
You other folks can have the hat, I'll take the jug!

We done so, the cylinder is on the frame, indicating it is out of whack in more than one place.
