Howdy Pards

Lately I have been doing some research on the revolvers and found a few within my $800.00 price range. Now, I just need one since it'll be a pleasure gun for the most part. Definitely .45LC.
I researched GW2, Cimarron's Frontier and Model P, Taylor's Smoke Wagon, Uberti's engraved cattleman and few others and don't really know what to do.
I would like it to be traditional (no transfer bar), sights don't matter really. And I do plan to replace the grips with ivory(ish) style ones.

GW2 would be perfect IF it had some patent dates which I really like on the gun and too bad those are missing now.
I really like the action of Cimarron Frontier as I had one before. And did find one with this fancy US finish as I mentioned in another post.
I absolutely like Smoke Wagon from Taylor company due to its action job and grip and hammer. And these do have those markings.
I was even thinking about buying something less expensive and sending it to classicguns for a finish job on which I got price already. I'm just that bad on the color case hardening and have to have it perfect. My GW2 from 1997 does have Turnbull on it and it's just phenomenal.
While I do enjoy looking at this engraved cattleman, I don't think it would be too practical for shooting, just too pretty.
I found brand new one American Western Arms' Peacekeeper at a decent price as well and it's within my budget. Looks like a freaking Colt for sure.

What do you recommend?

All input strongly appreciated.

The Smoke Wagon is a good choice , the Cimarron version is the Evil Roy both are in you price range.

A new American Western Arms' Peacekeeper will be at least 12 year old ( may be un-fired )
and you are right it is very Colt like... AWA went out of Business in 2001 ....
( parts may be a issue,  you see before it was AWA it was ASM and they are also gone )

Good advice from Major 2

I'm glad to see you bought a Smoke Wagon. I'm sure you will be very happy with it. I have three Smoke Wagons, two in .38 Special and one in .45 Colt. I was very satisfied how they all performed stock right out of the box.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Thank You. I am picking it up today so expect a overview in a little while. Gun research prior to buying is such a fun spor on its own.

A good choice and we look forward to your report upon getting a hold of it.
