Report them to GB, there is a page for just such reporting.  I have before, they contact them and tell them to change/remove it.  Also, I always contact the guy myself when they misrepresent, over half the time they are just ignorant.  I sent the seller a note pointing out that the stamping looked fraudulent.

Well that didn't work:

GBSupport1015    With a site of this site and depth, it is impossible for us to authenticate, verify, or otherwise be experts in every make and model of firearm, collectible, ammo, knife, air gun, bow, etc that is listed and sold here. It is the seller's responsibility to accurately describe the item being sold.

buckoff    This seller has multiple "antique" items listed which are fraudulent and so much so that his listing prices makes the fraud felonious. Here are just a few of his faked firearms: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=392412949 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=392412952 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=392412946 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=392412946 I am wondering how the legal department at Gun Broker would view this? Thank you, buckoff

Legal BS.... cop out

I'd write those dumb asses back and tell them you realize that they are not experts and that it would be impossible for them to authenticate every item, that's why you contacted them.  Anyone with even a little knowledge of the Henry rifle can see that these guns are as phony as a $3 bill.  There's no question, this is a fact.  The guy is a rip-off artist and should be stopped.

Synopsis of our state of life:

Seller is not responsible, GB is not responsible, authorities don't care, buyer just "chalks it up" to experience (or sticks his head in the sand), law enforcement doesn't want to bother, websites delete posts as "controversial", the media and our politicians preach "tolerance", it's easier to marry the guy with the locker next to yours in gym class (and more acceptable) than to purchase a firearm in some states..............we are "tolerating" ourselves into socialism!

Just like Ebay, they make their money from the sellers so they have little incentive to do anything about it.

Looks like with all the other trouble they went through they would have at least tried to age the wood. All three of his Henry auctions have nice Italian looking stocks on them.

If money orders or the mail system is used, mail fraud laws come into affect.  USPS inspectors take a dim view of things like this and are more than eager to prosecute.

Has anyone contacted the BATF or Postal Enforcement? If you have, please let me know so I do not repeat. If not, I will personally call and get them started on an investigation if this has not been done yet.

It is sad how obvious this is and I would hope anyone spending that much would know better, but still, impressive in the level of foolishness.

Given the number of other auctions the seller has with old and antique guns it would be hard to convince me they don't know the difference.

I can't believe anyone making that kind of investment would fall for it either.

I forwarded the link to the GB auction to a friend who has been dealing in antique firearms for more than 30 years and he felt that much of what this guy listed was suspect.  I don't understand how he has such positive feed back. ???

The stamping looks like it was done during the San Fransico earthquake, by a redhead $2 dollar lady of the night.

Take more than an earthquake to get one of them to move.

GB told me "We will review the listing." I figure that means "We won't do a damn thing". I tried.

I'm no expert on much of what he has listed but I also noticed others I thought looked suspicious. Also noticed an 1860 Army he had listed as original that appears to me to be a second gen colt.
