Don't know why but gut says fake. Barrel address just looks 'too' good, as do the frame serial nos. Then the Colt's Patent is so worn and the word Colt looks like the letters were struck individually, not sure if that is proper or not. Grip looks a little 'thin' front to back to me. Like I said, nothing I can hang a hat on for sure, but all that says to exercise extreme caution with this piece.

Well for $250 I would take a chance.
I have seen better copies made to look like the origanals.

That one with the shoulder stock looks a lot like my italian shoulder stock, even down to the reddish stain.   I have seen ony one Dragoon with a shoulder stock, ages ago at a very reputable antique gun dealer in the French Quarter of New Orleans.   It did not have that color of stain, it was american walnut, and obviously dark.  I would never buy one online, I would have to see it, handle it, see if the screws are metric, etc.

It's a FEDERAL offense for him to sell a modern (the Henry's) firearm as an antique, effectively breaking numerous laws.......

I reported the two "henry" auctions to the Gunbroker  help center as "possible" fraud. They should hopefully investigate the issue.
