Rose petals fall under the classification of gourmet food, don't have to taste good, just have to be expensive. ;D

Two scariest comments you can ever here are, "I'm from the government and I'm here to help" and I'm a gourment chef and I'm here to feed you."   :o

We had a "Chef" we let join the cast iron cooking group, LOL, world famous for some type of weird cooking, I let her in for fun, so funny seeing her out of her league with the cooks we have on there.  Every dang thing most of the so called chefs do, they make complicated beyond what it needs to be.

Marked my calendar in May: "Remind Del about Liz's secret rub".

She developed it for prime rib, we tried it on the loin one weekend, wonderful, her prime rib around Beatrice is well known at the places she has worked, draws in big crowds on prime rib night.

Here is the artsy photo from 2012 at RCS when the sky and they trees were reflecting in the drippings.

Most of those "gourmet" presentations wouldn't fill my eyetooth ::) :P To me, rose petals look nice, but don't qualify as food :P Besides, I have trouble growing roses here, have planted two here over the years, basically a death sentence for'em :(

Del, the hamster appointment went well, got both remaining locks off, plus, the service guy cut me a deal and I got an oil change done( needed it real bad) plus the removal for less than his original quote on the locks. Now I can go back to looking at tires( another confusing search) :P ::)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Buck, use your scrap gunpowder as fertilizer, don't
laugh, it works well.

I remember you stating that before, but I believe not only that would help. Soil's just too crappy here, lousey draining, too much clay and coal in it ::) :-\

Just looked out he window & noticed it's snowing again :P. the sidewalks are already covered & it's coming down at a pretty good rate.  The guessers said we might get another inch or two today but I figured they were wrong because the sun was shining at noon.

You folks can keep your snow up there. I am happy with the rain down. I just wish the temps were higher.

Got 'nuff ta dampen a rubber ducky. It's quit but looks like it'll come back any time......

Powder's too hard ta come by ta dump on roses. We don't have much luck with 'em either. Bought the fat lady a miniture bush last Hallmark holiday profit day. Suggested she keep it inna pot rather'n a flower bed.

This area was a Ohio Power coal mine at one time. There's old mine shafts all over the place around here. They even had to pump slurry into a few across Fohl rd. from us and running under the 77 on-ramp here. There's still coal coming out of the big hill behind us. The seam I see is a thin one though ::) :o

I went out a bit ago and refilled the bird feeders. Three out of four were just about empty, only two might have had squirrels in'em,though. Had an odd black bird on the tray yesterday now that I think about it. Fairly smallish with white bars on it's shoulder area. Sorta reminds me of a redwing, but it didn't have any red patches. Also had about 7 purple grackles too. Haven't seen any of those for quite awhile around here ::)

I suppose the Saltpeter in gun powder would act just like the Ammonia fertilizers, huh?

Smokeless for roses, the nitrocellulose with the coatings releases the nitrogen slowly over time as proper for them.  Always seemed to have stuff someone gave me, don't trust an opened can, but always took them and disposed of them for people.

That is a large species, goes nationwide.

they are part of the evolution chain...Maybe the al gore gobal warming goup will lead them off the edge of the earth.(it is flat you know?) In a million years scientist will discover them and have thousands of docments to back up their theroies about them.

Mornin'. Coffee's on. Got a fresh bass boat of snow.

Buck, your strange bird sounds like a lark bunting. Pretty common around these parts, as are grackles.

pony express

Mornin, Stu, thanks for the coffee. Got about a half of a life preserver of snow here, can still see the ground through it. That's the kind of snowstorm I can like! But the guessere are calling for a battleship of snow come sunday.......
