That looks nice and clean. I really like the attention/effort that you put into finishing your edges ;)

Awesome work sir! The double buckle is quite interesting also, haven't seen any like tha. Does that serve a purpose or is it judt to be different?

Yessir, . . . good lookin' rig.  Doc Holliday and Bat Masterson would have been proud to wear that into town.

As said earlier, . . . one of the marks of a craftsman is the attention to detail, . . . which your edges show well, . . . and as a personal aside, . . . I've always kinda been partial to the simple lines, simple and plain look.

May God bless,
Dwight

Wow Red, nice outfit.  Are those fast draw pistols?  I only ask because the backstage appears to be aluminum.

RED! That is just down right comfy lookin and very proffesional!!! My question is the same, tell us the story on the double buckle,is that for wearing in the back, right and lefty?
Bunch a ole scudders!

StrawHat

I can't answer for Red but for me the double buckle would allow for the use of another billet, for when I needed a larger (or smaller) gunbelt.

His ideas may vary.

About the same idea Strawhat. Especially made for those that hang up stuff in the closet and the stuff shrinks. Or a customer's tape measure is a little off and "just because".

Thanks for the kind comments. I owe a lot to you folks for your photographs and advice on this site. A new leather maker just does not realize, at first, what experienced mentors are really worth.

Page130 of Packing Iron shows a beautiful example of a Mexican double buckle rig from 1910-1920. That era in produced some beautiful leather.

See PACKING IRON, page 130, for a Mexican belt decorated with pititado (Sp?) (You were faster on the draw, Marshal.)

I made a double chape belt with cartridge loops on the centre piece.

Great looking holster Red, have you tried doing a reverse main seam pattern yet.  I have decided that once I can start shooting again I will make myself a couple of new rigs and doing a reverse seam might something for me to play with.  Have not looked into Packing Iron in several years but I wouldnt be surprised if the style wasnt around back in the old days also.

Nice looking outfit!  You are to be congratulated on your fine work!  I love the double buckle . . . I'd forgot about the one in PI.  That's a great idea . . . especially when things "expand" a little!   :)  I have a favorite belt that I made for my New Vaquero rig and unfortunately, I've lost enough weight that there is no more "take up" in it.  A new one will be in order when I get the time and I think I'll try a double buckle .  . not only looks nice but a good solution!  Thanks for sharing . . great photos . . great work!
