"Klondike"

After watching three two hour episodes of "Klondike" on the History Channel, I was curious about the accuracy of the uniforms of the NWMP depicted.

If you google 'Yukon Field Force', you will see several good pics, including one of our own in repose - "Rattlesnake Jack"!

The YFF was comprised of members of eastern Regiments to augment the thinly spread NWMP. They even had a pair of Maxim machine guns!
These were eventually passed on to the NWMP when many of the YFF went off to the Boer War, as did many of the NWMP.

A great piece of Canadian history.
