GC R,

Just a suggestion.
You may want to check out knives and sheaths/scabbards as were found on the Steamboat Arabia.
I think they have a pretty good selection of various knife sheaths within their exhibit.
This is a very nice "Primitive style Bowie", shown in your photos.
My best,

Camano Ridge

Blair, besides the museum in Kansas City, do you have someplace online where they can be seen?

Blair

Camano,

I am sad to say I do not!
Knife relics from the "Modern Greece", published in 1977 maybe a help.

I can say I have made up wood last (think in terms of Shoe and/or Boot making last) that would help me make sheaths for some early knife scabbards.
I will have to check with a friend of mine to see if he has any of the last and/or leather scabbards I had made up from those last for his antique collection of knives that needed scabbards.
I will try to provide images if I can.
My best,
Blair
