OK, Leo's seen this, but I thought I would up-date everyone else:

Posted this in a dutch oven group this morning:

OK, an up-date on the progress of the book; With a lot of new people here, a bit of background. I cook for living history demonstrations, I work in the period of what most call the wild west, from around the Civil War's end to the start of the Great War in Europe. This is intended to be a reference book on everything from equipment needed to the groceries available in the time period, with a lot of period recipes included.

Right now I'm getting the rough draft part of the reference ready for my editor, right now my goal is late spring on that. Then the recipes will be inserted in the sections where they belong, (meat dishes, baking, desserts and such) The goal here is to be done with this by Sept or early Oct. It will be sent on a flash drive to my friend who is going to edit it for me, he has a masters in English. So by the first of the year I should have it back. I will get the last of the pictures I need this summer and I plan on having it ready to go this spring, I am going to self-publish it.

It stands right now at 2.10 meg's of data, not sure exactly what that means, but that is with out pictures or most of the recipes. I need to talk to the curator of pictures at the NSHS for permission to use the one in the rough draft of the cover, which is set up to look lake a late 19th century book with long sub-titles. The first sub-title made several of my friends almost lose it because they understand the history behind it.

I will up-date from time to time again and let everyone know when it's done.

Glad it's getting closer to the finish,Del. Custer historians will probably argue that he should've taken mustard instead, though ::) ;)

Ain't supposed ta judge a book by its cover. I'll make an exception. Best of luck.

48° but it don't feel like it. Kilt Thursday's OFSDAR thing. Gonna be a copy of last January but with snow on the ground. Thinkin' Roo suffered heat exhaustion in that'n.

Went ta a meetin' this mornin' up in Colonial Heights at a sportin' goods place. Had a lunch counter in it but no pistol powder I could use. They did have an old five inch pencil barrel model 10 in there. Should've taken it with me. Didn't. Sorry now. Been sorry before. Got o'er 'em then, I'll get o'er it this time but I don't like it.

Here's to Stonewall.

But I have a college class this evening, followed by community band practice immediately after...  I don't even get a mean in between.  :'(

Good luck, Del.
