Wow, into the big city today. :-\  'Nuff said.

I was in conversation with a couple of the guys in my chemistry class, talking about cars.  Several were saying that they had the newest cars, and one guy brags that he has the oldest car.  I asked what year, and he says, 1983.  I told him, "sorry dude.  Got ya' beat by 21 years."  '83 Ford, meet '62 Stude. ;)

Del, that Volare was the only vehicle that our oldest couldn't tear up :o Had the usual rust through places, maybe that's why there aren't many to be seen anymore ::)

Just finished thawing my water about an hour ago. more than an hour in the crawl space with a propane torch, finally gave up and came in to eat something, water started trickeling in the sink after I came in. Running good now.
Wow, seems funny to me to hear someone bragging about their "old" 83 ford. My first vehicle was a 1954 Chevy half ton. Wrecked that and followed it with a '65 Chevy, drove that for 15 -16 years before I rolled it one morning on the war to work. :(

Then there's the Volare, I ran a bunch of those into the ground delivering mail.  Five of them, if I recall. Used to be my standard mail car. Buy one with 100,000+, use it a week or two, rebuild the tranny, then it's good to go. What usually did them in for me was rust in the front part of the unibody, the "frame rails" from about the front doors to the front wheels, would rust out. Then all my gravel road running would knock the whole front of the car out of alignment. But then just get another one for $500 and start again, at least I could fix them without a computer!

Four-Eyed Buck

Them front fenders went real fast around here, probably trapped all the road salt up in there. The flower shop I worked part time for during the busy holidays used to rent them for the period. I got used to driving them, you could get a lot of arrangements in the back of those wagons. When I needed a work vehicle, this one was available reasonable. Slant six, auto, green with a green vinyl interior. Did finally end up putting a set of Gabriel Hi-Jackers in the rear end to boost the springs, though. Not many leaves in them, and they went soft fairly rapidly. '76 model ::)

I had a maroon '76 Dodge Aspen wagon with a slant six.

Howdy y'all,

Hot cawfee & water on for the "early birdies".

Late congrats to Leo for his new grand baby !

Workload finely slowed down TG & I can report in more often. Back to packin' orders again & not ridin' herd on the ones who should be doin' their jobs. They got "culled" if absences were too plentiful & their "out-put of production" low.

Mild temps here lately, mid 40's for a high & low 20's overnight. Have seen some temps across the eastern seaboard & you have my sympathies !
Man, my poor little Jeep sure needs a bath !

One of the few cars i can think of that rusted more than the Volare/Aspen was the 70's Fiats, I fixed a couple of them that rusted on the boat over.  FIAT  Fix-It-Again-Tony.   ;D

I have started on that second pot of Cawffee this morning. The weather folks are saying that we have a 30 percent chance of rain today. I hope that folks are started to warm up this week. I am ready for warmer weather.

15 and sun here now ::)

Other than the doors freezing, the only other kick I had on that Volare was that stupid ceramic block thing that kept going bad ::) :-\
