Howdy,  Here's a tv show inspired holster, from Hell on Wheels. I need to tweak the pattern a little, but here is what I came up with.
The finished holster just didn't look right with that fresh new hide, and not a mark on it, so I made an attempt to age it some.
Thanks for taking a look!

Yes, you did a good job. It looks at least 2 or 3 weeks old. Ha! All kidding aside, it looks good. I have wondered how to put age on belts and holsters. I haven't figgered it out yet.
Swinging a rope is alot of fun unless, your neck is in the loop.

Looks good, Georgia. Nice design. Good pic of it in use, too. The aging gives it more character.

Thanks for the replies, guys.
Probably the most plain-jane holster I've made, but that style works well for the character on the show. He just wouldn't look right with a fancy blinged holster.  ;D

You did a great job of recreating Bohannon's Holster. In the latest issue of "Guns of the Old West" there is an article about the "Guns of Hell on Wheels". This article has a good picture of the Holster and yours is a dead ringer for it. I agree that A fancy Holster would not fit Bohannon's character.

Many thanks for sharing it with us.

(the current issue of GOTOW is called the Winter 2014 issue ?)
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Really nice rendition of the holster used for the show.  You did a great job with the holster.  If you were to drag it down a dirt road a little it would age it a little more....but if I were you I would wear it and use it for a year and then take a pic and repost.  You will be amazed at how much it will change with just use.
Thanks for sharing.

How much do I owe ya for that holster?   :)  I reckon my 1875 Outlaw would feel right at home in that there rig.

Oh by the way, I'm a lefty.  Cross draw by chance?
