Hello, I just bought a new uberti 1858 (my first cap & ball ever) not shoot it yet.
It seem to be perfect in every ways except that after a few cycles it's begining
to make a small bur on the cylinder at the right of the bolt notch looking
somehow like the approche lead on colt cylinder and I can do see the bolt
snapping on cylinder just a bit before it's right under the notch and it goes
full cock a fraction or almost at the same time.
I am sure that question has been answered before but I can't find it.
Can I do something about it or should I enjoy it as it is?
Is polishing the bolt head will help ?

Thanks Rust

It is good to do a little polishing but you might also slightly bevel the top edge of the bolt where it engages the cylinder.  Knocking off the sharp edge should let it engage more smoothly without hitting the cylinder edge .
