Have been interested in having a gun cradle for some time. For 40 some years have gotten by with padded swivling bench vise, but want something a little more versatile. Have looked at ones offered by Lyman and Tipton, but some of the reviews are negative due to the use of plastic or plastic not heavy enough. Have looked at some on-line plans on the web, but am wondering if any on this forum have good plans or know of a good on-line plan available. Could just use thee ol' nogan' and fabricate something from scratch, but wondering about any tried and true ideas. Like the Lyman revolving/adjustable cradle concept and would like to be able to do something on those lines. Doesn't need the strength of something needed for heavy duty gunsmithing, just hold a longgun and/or handgun securly for cleaning or minor work.

I have been using for of these for many years.  Never been a problem.  By the time you buy all the materials and invest the time, this is probably cheaper and is a proven product.
