Finished a saddle scabbard for my 1895 Marlin today

Been working on this for the last little while...it's ready to go for a ride.  :)
Note: That's my Dad's saddle...he bought it in 1935 an although it's had some work, I'm still using it today...

That's fine work, Jayhawker. It looks great with that saddle. 8) Of course, it'll take a few years to get to the same tone. Thanks for the pics.

Darn nice everything!I used to ride my great aunts saddle,had Mary Woodside on the back of the cantle,bet you can feel the ole man when ya ride it huh :)

Great looking scabbard - beautiful job!  Now remember, we want to see photos of it once it has had a little wear and aging to it.   ;D

Nice looking saddle too . . . I'll bet you think of your Dad every time you swing you leg up over it.  Lots of good mememories I'm sure . . . just think of the memories some one will have when you pass that nice saddle and beautiful scabbard on to the next generation!

That's right and how i got my aunt Marys saddle,which was givin away without my knowing and i been searchin for it anywhere i can think off.She never married and tere farmed all her life passing at 72 back in the 30s,she was full blood indian,can't remember which one,she was in Okl. and wyoming and she worked for the Kickapoo schools.Man i'm sorry for goin off,i just hope to find that saddle someday!! :(

Yep, just laid the rifle out on a piece of paper and went to work...
