On my Burnside Spencer M1865 with both the original upper block and CF replacement The extractor does a good job
of extraction but shell does not flip out like I see on different YouTube videos. I don't have my reloading dies in yet so
can not experiment with loaded or dummy rounds and I have never fired  a Spencer. What should I expect when
actualy firing a Spencer? Could not find this addressed in SORI. The extractor spring is original and seems to operate
the extractor without a problem.

In my rifle, made from an 1865 Burnside, the cases do not  "flip out", but they extract and eject out the top just fine.  I usually lower the lever slowly, as I don't want my case flipping out and dropping on the concrete. So I extract slowly and grab the cases with my hand.

All but a very few expermental Spencers did not have a ejection system, instead they relied on the quick flick of the leaver to extract the cartridge and eject the case, with a little practice this works very well
