Well, you're gonna hafta wait on pictures fer a spell till I learns how to post 'em .... But, I can give a range report.

I was on the range with the rifle within the hour of receiving it. Load was my CAS 44-40 standard - 6 grs Red Dot/200 gr RNFP.
I had to tap the rear sight over to get it near centred. Still needs a tad more.

Off hand at 25m, it put 5rds into 3-1/2"x 2-1/2".  At 50m it put 5 rds into 3-3/4"x2-1/4". Sitting at 100m it put 5 rds into 7". So much for paper.
Off hand all I had to do to consistently hit the 100m 12"x12" gong was hold centre. This required putting the rear sight on the highest notch of the ramp. That means the ramp covers the engraved word "One" completely as I saw in the Madis book on an original.

Considering that the rear sight had no more elevation to offer, I didn't bother with the 150 or 200m gongs, but I believe that all I would have had to do was hold at 12 o'clock to hit the 150. That's what I do with the Henry using the 200 yd position on the ladder to hit at 200.
Maybe that's what I need to do - install a Winchester ladder type rear sight on the '73. Are they available?

The spring that powers the safety button must have been hammered forged because it requires a really stiff grip to depress for shooting. I'm happy with the unaltered trigger pull and hammer fall. They shall remain unchanged.
The tang is not drilled and tapped for a tang sight. To do so would require mutilating some of the beautiful scroll work. I don't know if I could do that .....

Overall impression - Beautiful rifle! It got a lot of interest at the range from the plastic stocked rifle crowd. The rifle gives the impression that it would appreciate a hotter load. Next time out - BLACK POWDER !!!

If someone was to offer me a stock Uberti '73 in the same condition that was unmolested (i.e. no mushy hammer and trigger springs and no short stroke kit) I would do it in a heartbeat as I could mount a tang sight on it. In the meantime, she's one hell of a pretty lady, even if she ain't a virgin no more!

PJ Hardtack-

I tried the Marbles Sight both the "improved" and the Standard Peep.  I did not get GOOD RESULTS from either.  I tried 4 different Marbles type sights and THEY ALL WOBBLED in the upright position.  So my experience with the Marbles Sights is "much" different than the others.  I shoot Long Range with 45-60 /45-70 / and out to 200 with my '94 Winchester in 30-30. I gave up on Marbles... they ALL WOBBLED.  I went with Kelley Sights both Tang and Front Sight... best investment I ever made for the rifles in Long Range.  Marbles is a long established company... but after "buying" 4 of their sights and they ALL WOBBLED and the NEW IMPROVED was the WORST.  I gave up on Marbles.  I suppose the sights that Marbles sent me were all made on Friday or Monday... my experience with the Marbles Tang/Peep sights was not a good experience.  To each his own... If'n they work for you ... good.  They did not work for me.

You got 4 consecutive "bad" Marbles sights?  ???  I can understand an occasional lemon, but 4 in a row??  :-\

This isn't the 1st bad review I've read about the Marbles sights.  If I recall correctly, most were on the improved model and that is why I ordered the standard.  In any case, I received a good one.

I've got Marbles Improved models on 7 different rifles with no issues.

Sine there are no returns on sights that have been mounted on a rifle, looks like it's a lottery - you either gets a good 'un, or ya doesn't.

If you want a top drawer tang sight, I would recommend https://www.montanavintagearms.com . I just received a tang sight from them for my Browning 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine 45-70. Fit and finish is flawless. The one I got is a reproduction of an early Marbles tang sight. I have 5 lever guns equipped with tang sights, none of them have windage adjustments. Instead, I centre the front sight and then lay a shim under the tang sight one side or the other. The shims are thin enough that once you screw down the tang sight, you can't see them unless you looked very closely between the tang sight base and the upper tang.
