It's on Pietta's international web site, I understand, but I wouldn't be surprised if the short barrel killed it's import in the U.K. I just bought an unused 1860 Army from my brother in law and sent it to a gunsmith to bob the barrel and fit a Schofield 45 Kirst Konverter. Next stop, a smaller 1851 grip and a refinish to make it look like a worn original. I am talking worn faded bluing not looking dug up. Can't wait to get it back. Maybe you can consult a gunsmith there to see if after purchase barrel shortening is legal.
How do you feel about moving to Guernsey, I understand they are a lot less restrictive, or have they lost their minds by now as well.

Very nice. I like the taper on the under lever area, I'm doing that as well and nice to see some figure in the grips. Mine look like they came from a pallet

The Trinity Kid

My belly gun is when I shoot my full size revolvers from the hip........ ::)  Wrong belly gun?

I was told recently that I'm "livelier than a one-legged man at a butt-kicking contest."    Is that an insult or a compliment?

You'd think they would loose the shoulder stock screws on that model at least. I wish you could buy the "normal" Pietta 1860 without the shoulder stock screws. It would make it much nicer for engraving. Just saying......

Forty Rod

Uberti makes a three screw model without the stock cut outs, JP.  It is, IMHO, one of the most elegant handguns ever made.

The extra screw and cutouts (and that atrocious "Thunderer" grip) make it look like someone's bad clone of a really nice gun.
People like me are the reason people like you have the right to bitch about people like me.

Well.  Well Well .......... Well, Well, Well ...... and PHOOEY!  So there!!
I just gotta tell ya, those little short Pietta built Snub Nose 1860s are an absolute HOOT to play with.  Just plain grins and giggles.  My first set, a pair of .44 Cal Pietta 1851s.  Yea, yea I know, no such thing as a .44 1851.  I just think of them as 1860s with octagonal barrels.  Some kind of fun, although I do admit to changing the grips.  To a set of '51 type grips of course.
Advantage:  just add a pair of R&D cylinders and instant cartridge gun, same caliber.  Too KOOL.
Advantage:  The guns include a nifty brass rammer for loading.  Sucks for loading, makes a dandy cap seater :-)
Advantage:  With a cylinder loading stand, loads in a Jiffy.
Advantage:  KOOL factor.  After the first stage " everybody" oohs and aahs.
Caviat:  The "extra" screws for a butt stock are very short, machined flat, and are a bugger to start in the threads if you happen to take one out by mistake (you will) so put em in with blue LocTite so you'll notice before you take em out.  Those "extra" screws are a nuisance.

I now have a pair of EMFs 1860 Snub Nose (never met a barrel too short) on back order.  I also have a pair of short guns on back roster at Cabellas.  Just waiting for Pietta to start shipping again.

Here's my put together. I started with a 'on sale' 1860 Pietta from Cabela's. Picked up a 3" Pietta snub barrel from VTI. Cobbled in a Kirst gated cartridge conversion cylinder. The brass frame was 'iron-ized' with Birchwood Casey brass black. Using 45 Cowboy Special brass with 16 grs. of black and 180 gr. bullets this Angel shoots point of aim at 10 yards.

That'll teach me not to check the photo files I'm uploading. Try these.....

Fredcdobbs,

Here is a collective photo of my belly guns.

Well, it arrived back from the gunsmith. Shoots well but needs some trimming of the front sight.
Took the grip off a 1851 London, did some shifting around and saved a buck not having to buy a grip.

Here is my Cimarron 1860 Richards Mason 44 Colt Conversion I made like the one carried by US Marshal Dallas Stoudenmire when he was a Marshal in El Paso Texas. The orginal did not have the front sight. After I added the sight it shot pretty good.
