Wanting to shoot my Spencer, Best course of action?

I have a few of those reloadable DGW cases.  I bought them 25+ years ago and fired them a couple times in a M1865 Soencer carbine I had back then.  These are lathe turned cases so they are thicker than normal. I just measaured the ID of three of them, they were all .520".  So you will need a round ball of that size or very close.  Load enough 2F powder to still allow the ball to be seated.  The ball doesn't have to be seated all the way in, just enough to hold it in place.  After the ball is loaded, coat the ball with a good black powder lube.  Hava you measured your bore/groove diameter? If the groove is a good bit larger than .520", I doubt these rounds will be very accurate, but they will go boom so long as you line up the primer at the 9:00 O'clock position.
