Major Matt Lewis

Well,

We are coming down to game time.  I am EXTREMELY pleased with the registrations thus far.  I have made 50 copies of the shooter's handbook and you know what, I just may need to make more....

As of today, I have 42 registered.  And I can think of at least 3 Registrations more that I will be getting (note that I am not counting birds in the bush until I have them in hand).  So, last year I had  I had 29 Registered and 27 show up.  That is growth of over 44% if I do not get another registration.

I will also point out that there are a whole lot of Duelist (15), especially Black Powder Duelists (7)....It is truly my hope that EVERYONE that is able to make the trip thoroughly enjoys themselves.

I'll sticky this for a while so everyone can keep up on the information.  :)

Major Matt Lewis

Depends on how you define Brass ;D

I think that every GAF Member that shows up has a lot of BRASS!  But we got folks coming from Canada, we got folks coming from New England (Can't spell Conniticut  ;)) We got folks coming from the East Coast, The Midwest, west of the Continental Divide and Texas by God!  It pleases me that this truly is a national event.  Technically International, so next year I may change the name :D

Hey General/Govoner Wallace...,

Thanks....

(I'm going to get into trouble here, but how many from the upper brass of GAF?)

Well, I don't suppose that a Departmental Commander fits the defintion of "upper brass" (especially of the smallest department, personnel-wise ... ;D ) but I'll be there ... as the most perceptive of readers just might have already deduced from my posts to date ... ;)

(Update: just as I was tring to post the above, I got notification of the Major's message.   I am honoured to be part of the "International Contingent" .... if not the entire contingent! ::) )

As the Chief of Staff, I'm hereby issuing the following definition of "higher brass" for the GAF.

All members of the GAF Brigade HQ: Commander, Chief of Staff, Adjutant, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Engineer and Chief Topographical Engineer, Chief Signal, SgtMaj, etc.

All Department Chiefs: Atlantic, Missouri, Pacific, and Platte; Canada, and International.

All Chiefs of Branch: Cavalry, Artillery, Infantry, Staff, Marine, Naval, Revenue Service, Scouts, etc.

For sure, I know that this group includes Rattlesnake Jack (Canadian Department); Dr Bob (GAF Chief Topographical Engineer); and myself.  There may be others but Maj Lewis hasn't deemed to keep me informed of the Muster attendees (not being critical - he's doing an outstanding job as usual).

By the way, I do believe that Marshal Hollaway, as Mayor of Cas City, ranks as a VIP.

Now if we are talking about VIP's, than I think I will through around some names that I deem are VIP's.

Pat from Meister Bullets Inc. (Presenting Sponsor)

Doc Black and Lou Graham (Main Match Sponsors)

Marshal & Marhal'ette Holloway (Article Writers for "Shoot!" & CAS City)

Tracy Thorpe (Marshal of NCOWS) Man can he shoot!

George Warnick (Editor-In-Chief of the NCOWS magazine "The Shootist.")

As far as GAF folks, I follow the same line of thought as Carlson with his Raiders  ;)

Drydock

As the principle representitive of the enlisted personnel of the GAF Naval detachment, I will indeed be there.  In the interest of event planning, you may however dispence with the proper rendering of honors by sideboys.

(Huh?  What?  Whaddya mean, it just means I don't have to row the boat . . .)
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

Major Matt Lewis

I will be picking up the Shooter's Handbooks tonight.  The delightful delema that I have is that I believe based on calls and emails that my first run of 50 will not be enough....

Now for the big news.  Doc Black of Hartford Armory has volunteered to have a Hartford Armory Remmie available for all to test.  So, each registrant will recieve 5 Rounds of .45 LC Ammo on behalf of me to use in his test pistol.
