Thanks to all you Pards, I finally finished my first holster. I was happy that the pattern I made worked out well, the iron fits nice and snug but eases in and out, I just have to add a hammer strap. It should work fine for the woods. I will do some things differently and do some tooling on the next one. I am open and would appreciate suggestions. Hope the pictures make it--BobbyF

TexasToby

I like it and it looks like  one that can take some punishment and still hold up.
Swinging a rope is alot of fun unless, your neck is in the loop.

Congrats on your first holster build Bobby! Did the bug bite you? Haha. I hope you enjoyed the process of the build. You should be very proud of your accomplishment. It's a fine looking holster sir.

Looking good Pard. Nice job on the stitching.
I will no longer respond to the rants of the small minded that want to sling mud rather than discuss in an adult manner.

Thanks Pards for the kind encouraging words. Any success I attained on this project, was due to this Forum. Thank you for accepting me into the Community. Nasty, I did get bit by the bug and Wil it is an addictive hobby. Can't wait to get a new project started, a looped belt I think. All of You be well--BobbyF

Your first holster is a special one, I still have mine from 1959, you did well, much better than I did on my first, my love for western guns is what got me into leather working, and after all this time it keeps me there,

Hi tEN wOLVES,
That holster from'69 is special , would like to see a pic of same. It also somewhat explains (40 yrs experience) why your work is outstanding. Even as a rookie I can see the skill in your work but also the artistry and creativity in your pieces. That is true of the rest of your "Posse" as well.i must sound like a broken record but I feel most fortunate to have found your forum and to have been accepted as a member.

Howdy Bobby,

Great job especially for a first holster. We look forward to seeing your future projects.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself
