Major Matt Lewis

Wow...has it really been 10 years.  I remember when I put the first one together.  I thought it would largely be a "one -off" but then did it the 2nd year too and made it better.  I am so glad to see my baby growing up....Thank you Jerry for running with it and I REALLY wish I could make it this year, but alas, I am still campaigning in Afghanistan.  I will be home in the fall.

I wish you could too Richard! I think you'd really enjoy some of the things we're going to be doing this summer.

Two more paydays before the Muster. Planning on sending registration out with Friday the 6th dispatches.

Edit:
Or maybe a couple of days before, so as to arrive there about the same time payday arrives.......

I've received official confirmation that several vendors will be in attendance.

Got a round count question!  How many are needed for the 300 yd/meter long range side match. Trying to decide whether or not I should order some more 44WCF cases.  Just got a red squiggly under 44WCF. Are these computers so stupid that they don't know
what that is? Time to go back to hand-set phones and memorizing the math tables. What is this world coming to?

Aghast with incredulity, LTC Montgomery Little, GAF Senior Chaplain

PS: Now there is a red squiggly under LTC and GAF. A bullet has just been cast with an" HP" on it.

10 rounds for score. However many sighters you want.

Another question came up regarding round count. If you intend to shoot one of the 1-gun classes (Forager, Infantry, or Staff Officer) be sure to bring enough ammunition to engage ALL targets, not just the pistol targets. If one of the rifle targets is too far away for you to hit it with your shotgun you will move forward until you can.

Forager is a 2 gun class, revolver and shotgun.  Staff Officer (handgun) and Infantry (Rifle) are the one gun classes.

Might even have to run two squads.....or maybe platoons??

Drydock

Sent mine out today.  I'll be shooting Infantry this year.  Unless I'm the only one.  Might change back to Marksman if so.  I'll bring the PPS for the Zoot match.

I really have no idea what to do for the zoot match. I have a 1911 and a m1 carbine but my loads for it are iffy. I have no clothing that would be appropriate.

You don't have cowboy or wild bunch guns?  Do you have a Henley or a white cotton button up shirt or a chambray shirt and bib overalls or dungarees and a beat up nondescript hat?  You don't have to dress like a gangster or a g-man. How about being a WWI veteran? There are lots of options.

Last year on the way home from the World's championship at Byers the waterpump on my pickup went out  and rather than get my good clothes greasey I changed into the clothes I'd shot in. The guy st the parts store  suggested that he had a mule out back that I could use to plow the south 40 with  ;)

I don't really have a plan for the Zoot either...I thought before about just being a farmer and shooting my Marlin pump 25-20, but then, it might not knock anything down, and I don't have enough brass to hit all the targets 3 times. Maybe a WWI Vet? Hmmm... Could a WWI vet shoot his war trophy Mauser 98?I know it's not competitive with a Thompson, but I don't really care about winning it anyway(like there's any chance of that), just to have fun.
