We start the Expansion Era Match around 08:00. The long range match is in the afternoon & evening.

I never like to "volunteer' anybody, but there's usually someone coming from or through Omaha that you might be able to share a ride with. If you get into Omaha around 2:00 you still should be able to get to Sargent by 7:30 or 8:00 pretty easily.

Was not sure if Camping Facilities were avail Thurs Night who knows.  If it is anything like Montana it is still light enough to stack hay until 9 - 10 PM, learned that well summer of 71 after I got home from RVN.  Change sprinkler Line, eat dinner and work 3 -4 more hours.

Most are in by Thursday night, heck I bet if you came on Monday Jerry would let you camp. ;D  I do supper Thursday night and I can have food Thursday noon morning or even Wed evening if anyone wants.  ;D  I tend to arrive on Wed afternoon.

That's for sure, I noticed that last year, seemed like going north from central Mo to central NE gained an hour of daylight in the evening.

Yeah, sorry I didn't answer that. Yes, it stays pretty light until about 10:00 that time of year.

If things work out we may have some interesting period entertainment inspired by accounts of the US Military on the plains and some Solomon Butcher pictures.  A friend is helping me search for the required equipment.

Sounds like a hoot!!

Investigated Airfares on SWA to Omaha.  Looks like a shade under $450 from Phoenix, non-stop early bird check-in guaranteeing aisle seat.  Fly in Thursday land Omaha 2ish, Fly out Monday PM 3ish.

What time do festivities start on Friday?

I can probably stay at Offut AFB Guest house Thursday and Sunday Nights

We shall see what things look like after the first of the year.  I may even be able to Car Pool with Bow View Haymaker if I can get sufficient time off to make the drive.
If you're coming in to Omaha and need a place to stay, let me know.
That goes for anyone coming through Omaha and needing a sleep over spot before caravanning on to the Muster.
Heck, we'll even feed ya!

To all, not to be outdone by RCJ (a nefarious scroundrel so I'm told) anyone traveling from the east is welcome to bivouac at Pine Hollow in central Ia. on thier way to the muster. The Iowa contingent will be departing camp on Wed. morning. Looking forward to seeing everyone then. Al.  Post Script-- meals are available, I may not know what it is, but there will be plenty of it. Hallo the fire!

This is great news.   I so wish I could have made it this past year, the grand muter too. But life has a way of getting in the way.

for those wondering, I am still alive, and (I hope) still fit for service.  Lots of life changes these past months.

I do hope and plan on making the trek back to good Ol' Nebraska next summer for this great event.

I miss the Nebraska sky and Del's cookin', and everyone else too. And the shooting.

I am going to start making plans now.

Does anyone know of or have a good wedge tent to sell? and (let's see) I'll need a haversak, and canteen strap, and maybe a .45-70 mills belt and,.......

Me too! With some of the things that are planned (I'm planning for at least one new target and Ned is planning at least one new prop) and the fact that it's the 10th Anniversary of the 1st Grand Muster, I intend to see that it's one of the most memorable.

Jerry, if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I've missed too many of these fine events and it won;t happen again. Between Dels cookin' and the sea stories I'm getting the shakes just thinking of what I've missed. Looking foward to seeing everyone in June. Al.

Thanks Al
I'll keep that in mind. Right now all that I can think of to ask you for is that you and Dutch each bring at least one new participant with you. Like River City John said,

Saw my doctor yesterday - he doesn't see any reason I wouldn't be up to it by June.  I said that's good to hear because I plan to be there.

Pitspitr

I'm so glad to hear it. I think about you often and you'll be in my prayers until well after you get the all clear test results.

Secured the banquet Hall this evening. Rattlesnake Jack will be familiar with it, the Comstock Lodge which is just about 1 mile east of the range as the crow flies. It is a very nice venue.
