Does anyone know if there is a reasonable motel close to the museum to stay at?  We plan to stop by for a night on the way down to the Texas shoot in Oct..

Have you contacted the Museum, or the Chamber of Commerce?
How about an internet search?

Hi JR

The basic answer to your question is NO.  The OKC Museums (most anyway) are next to a less than great section of town.  The 45th Infantry Museum is also great, FREE, and has a nice gun collection including a Walker Dragoon.  They also have an interesting bunch of Hitler's stuff.

You might call the Cowboy Museum and see when and if they are getting their gun room back open.  A large portion of the Museum is closed for re-furbishing.  You might also call about getting a tour guide / docent.  We used Phil Dame, a local State Farm agent, I see his billboard a lot.  Several of the Docents are quick draw champions.  There are also a few more museums in that area that look interesting.

Being a CAS type you may also want to eat lunch or dinner at Cattleman's steak house, it's only been in business for about 102 years.
