I another post I told how I was on a motorcycle ride and stopped in a number of gun shops. I saw a very nice Uberti 1860 Henry Iron Frame in 44-40 and a AWA Colt Lightning in 38-40. I decided to buy both of them after the store owner offered me a deal I couldn't refuse. BUT....My 13 year old car had another plan.......$1500 worth of repairs to fix the air bag sensor so I could get an inspection sticker...UGH! So I passed on the AWA but I couldn't pass on the Henry. It now lives with us!

I took it to the range last night with some factory 44-40 ammo. Here is the results at 25yds resting the barrel on my range bag:

Believe it or not....That is 5 shots!!!

The rifle is a thing of beauty!

Can't wait to try some handloaded Black Powder rounds through it!

In all honesty, you did well to pass on the Lightning :P.  Really nice Henry.

You will enjoy the Henry more than the Lightning for matches. I also shoot a Iron Frame I really like it, shoots remarkable well beyond 100 yards.

Looks a lot like mine.

I only shoot Black Powder in mine.

Gotta tell you though, there was no such thing as a One of One Thousand Henry. That was a marketing campaign thought up for the 1873. Not the Henry nor the '66.

That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

Yep, you sure got the better of the two. Spitting image of mine as well except for the engraving on the top. Mine shoots with black powder better than I can hold. Congratulations and welcome to the club!

For CAS, with a little bit of work, that Iron Frame will run faster than you can run it :D

Who makes a Short Stroke kit for the 1860. I used Pioneers new toggles in my 1873 and 1866 and they are wonderful. But I don't see the 1860 listed on nthe Pioneer web site.

That's because the internal moving parts ang geometry of Uberti's '73' '66 and Henry are identical.  Pioneer's short stroke kits will work just fine.  I would also suggest a set of "Slixsprings" lever side springs.  There are some after-market main springs available as well.  I personally like Pioneer's coil spring conversion.  The Pioneer main requires a little clearanceing of the stock but is not real difficult.
