This is my belt knife.  The blade was made by my father, 29 years ago.  I was 10 and he made 3 blades from a broken bandsaw.   He just screwed wood to them as a handle and used them as various garden knives.  Over the years, he must have given away 2 of them.   When he passed about 6 years ago, I nabbed this one, planning on cleaning it up a bit.  I bought the brass guard from Dixie and my mother-in-law, who is the queen of finding shed antlers, gave me the antler for a handle.  It now hangs in honor from my gun belt.

Excellent knife Mo!

Now is when I usually say, "Can I have it?"   ::)

But, given the history of the piece, the only place it can go is on your belt.   8)

Beautiful knife, Mo. Especial by the memory of your father.

Nice.  Can't see it very well, though ...might I suggest a closer shot showing more of the knife?

Also...I would suggest the addition of a knife forum here, but of course that would be a biased request.

Cool blade!!! Ive made a couple over the years, and these seem to be my kids favorites. Your dad is probably quite proud that you cary this.

It's good to carry something with a story like that.  My knife was made for me by an 80 year old blacksmith friend using a coal forge and a rail road spike.  I watched him pound it out of yellow hot iron !!  It's not for sale..... ever

Not fully, I write right handed, shoot with my left, mainly because my left eye is waaaayyy dominant.  Also, youthful stupidity cost me the full use of two fingers on my right hand.  Knife fits better in left hand, but that is the deer's fault.   :D

I was on my slower than mollasses computer at home, so I kept my post short.  I want to thnak everyone for the compliments.  I was terrified when I began working on it as this was the first time I have ever done anything along these lines.  I was sure I would screw it up royally.   Glad I didn't.

The history and the way that you remember it's inception make this one extremely special momento.
