Maybe I should throw my hat in the ring too. I got two 51 navies, a Walker, a RM 51, a RM 60 in .44 colt and a navy gripped, nickle plated open top in .44 colt. Does that qualify me? ;)

Thomas (Tom) Horn aka James Hicks

Do not know if I qualify for this forum.  I have 2 army '60's percussion that I am in the process of converting.  Have completed one, waiting on the 2nd one, conversion parts (backorder). I have not shot these as main match revolvers, have always used the '73's all Uberti's.  The armies (Pietta's) I have had for a long time, I saw this forum and started seeing folks conversions and I thought, I can do that, plus it will give me more pistols to shoot... laugh.  So if I do not qualify... I will come back after I convert my 2nd army.  I have not seen anyone where I shoot, use percussions that have been converted. We have a couple of pokes who shoot them in black powder, but no conversions.  In fact I have only seen one member who shoots sometimes with a '72 open top.  So when mine are converted and I use them...maybe others will also.

This is a sickness, I can feel it in my bones but . . .alas, I had no cure for the assuagement of my fever other than entering into this madness.

Being an impractical person, I chose the 1860 Richard Mason conversion (Army) in .44 Colt for my very first Cowboy Action weapon.  It is far too pretty to be handled by mere humans.  Anyway, I assume this warrants membership in this grand assemblage of like-afflicted individuals?  I do hope so, I am always looking for a new group of cornered folks to tell all my lies to.

I chose the eight inch projectile conveyance as it would bring me in closer proximity to any targets and when I miss, I can pistol whip the targets to the dirt much more effectively.

Yours,

Mean Bob

Same here, wanted one since my dad took me to a gun show and explained them to me about 4.5 decades ago.  I just think the lines of the 1860 are so elegant; but, the cap and ball revolvers, while a hoot, are meant for people with more patience than I myself am in possession of.

Really want an open top .45 next.
