Jed, I figgered that you was already a member. You are welcome here, my brother.  Congrats on winning the Pistoleer title at the SW NCOWS match last weekend. I really enjoyed meeting and hanging out with the boys from Indy. I look forward to seeing you guys in the future.

Good luck with your health issues. Steel Horse (Jeff) is in the hospital today getting his cancer operation. Havent heard from his wife yet though.    Regards,  Jed

Just received and email from the Marshal about this forum the other day. Good to see so many others shouting the Open Tops and Conversions. I have not seen any others in my area shooting them. I shoot an Open top and a RM 1860 Army in 44Colt with my 66 Yellowboy in 44-40. I not in the sport for the speed, I am in for the fun of shooting and trying to be period correct. I just purchased the RM Army from Marshal a couple of weeks ago and shot it for the first time this past Sunday in a monthly shoot. I shoots real sweet. Shot my 66 for the first time also. Not sure if it was the new guns, but I shot with a lot less misses then previous shoots. I was borrowing a rifle and my second gun was an Uberti Cattleman in 45 with 51/2 barrel. I was missing more with the 45 then my Open top so I would say this was some of the difference. I was hoping that R&D would have come out with the conversion kit to make a Richards 1860 Army conversion, but it was going to take longer than expected so I went with the RM 60 Army. Someday, hopefully maybe Uberti/Beretta will come out with a good quality Richards. Looking forward in being able to come to this forum to read interesting things about these type of gun. Thanks to those you put this together.

Forgot to mention, I have a magazine with an article about Gren's conversions. Probably what got me interested in these type of guns.

Hey is there room at the bar for sit? Need to get in out of the cold for awhile. Trying to concentrate about Saturday morning need to try and sneak up on that "Old Bearded Tom". Well i have a .36 Cal Navy Black Powder made in Italy. Under the barrel is stamp DGG in a Circle. I have found out that is was made by Armi San S.r.l. ; established in 1970, uses the last names of the original founders Grassi, Doninelli, and Gazzola as a symble, DGG, usaually contained within a circle. Beginning date of December 31, 1970, Armi San Paplo officially became Euroarms Italia S.r.l. The same logo is used on all Euroarms models. This number on the bottom of the barrel, is this the numbers i need to find out any history on this pistol such as when it was actually made, and the place of origin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Turn Key

My favorite six gun style. I have four, a Cimarron 1860 RM, a 1860 RICHARDS by Ken Howell of R&D,(both in 44 colt), and two Stoger/Uberti 1872 open tops in 38 spl. (all 8" & 71/2" Bbls). I also shoot a 1860 Henry and  1866 replicas, both in 44-40, so I think I best get on board over in the Henry forum also.  ;D

I shoot Cap and Ball right now but am waiting "patiently" for my 1872 Open Top.  May I join?  Patience is rewarded!  My Open Top finally arrived.  I bought a 5 1/2" .44spcl with the navy grips.  Request permission to come aboard.

Hello to the fire got room for someone packing a Piette 51 navy and a Uberity Colt Walker with a R&D and looking some where I can tie a horse and get a cup of coffee
                                                              Thanks buckeyed

Guess I'm slow on the uptake. Thought I had already joined in with this august group. I shoot an 1860 Army with a Kirst conversion, a Cimarron 1872 Open Top in 38 long Colt and ..Ta Da.. my newly converted Uberti Walker.Used a Kirst gated conversion , removed the loading lever and added a modified ejector assembly from VTI.  Not really fast but great style points ;D ;D . All are stoked with BP cartridges, so lots of smoke and flame.

HowDee! Please sign me up. Have been shootin cap and ball since 1972 with the purchase of a '51 Colt in 44 caliber-it met a tragic end in a fire. Currently shoot a '51 Colt Navy in 36, an 1860 Colt Army and 2nd Model Dragoon, both 44's, and a '72 Open Top in 44(shoot black out it in 44 Colt and smokeless in 44 Special). Love shootin  the "old timers", if more people who shoot firearms would give em a try, willing to bet that they'd be hooked, if they could endure the clean-up after the shootin.
