Howdy all,

I hope everyone is doing well.

I was here long ago and thought I was a member of STORM but want to be sure, so if I'm not. I'd like to join...especially because I've been posting in your group and wish to respect your rules.

I've been an antique arms collector since a teen and am now 42 and have handled hundreds of them whether they were my own or from my locator services and truly love the history that these arms have been through. As those before, we are only care takers for future gens to respect, enjoy and learn from.

I must say that the conversions have my heart though...especially the Model 1860 and all of it's variations.

Blessings,
Rich Lovan

Howdy,

If you'll have me I'd like to join STORM. I'm a hobby gunsmith, engraver and wood carver. I'm here because I live to shoot my handguns on a regular basis and my favorite one to shoot is my 1860 Army (I kind of like my S&W Model 41 .22 target pistol as well).

I live in a rural area with not much chance to shoot in official CAS without a good bit of travel. I do shoot informal Cowboy Action with other locals and we often shoot here at my place. I'm lucky and live where going out to shoot is just stepping outside or at least opening the shop door a tad when it's -13 like tonight. Not sure if it helps but I grew up on a horse in the badlands out my back door. The same badlands that once hosted a battle between the Gros Ventre and the Sioux. I wasn't around that far back so I have to take it on the word of some Gros Ventre friends. Ok, enough name dropping.

On a serious note I'd like to hang out here because this is the best exchange there is for gunsmithin and customizing my beloved 1860 Army. So, ifin you'll have me.....

Request permission to join your august group.  I'm a Frontiersman/Pistoleer that shoot's only Colt style C&B revolvers.  Primary main match guns are a pair of 2nd Gen 1861 Navies; and have a dozen or so other Navies that get shot occasionally.  One goal for the coming year is to obtain a pair of those new fangled cartridge conversions.

Respectfully submitted for approval,

Hey Fingers,
I'm sure if you've been a good boy Rio will approve you as your Christmas present from STORM.

I didn't realize that your '61s were your main match guns,  That's what I used use and I must say they are still probably my all time favorites for looks. They rarely get used these days.  I have been shooting '60s for the last 3 years.  Do your '61s have the silver plated grip frames?

Have a great Christmas,

Yes, they have the silver plated grip frames.  Once the holidays are over, they're probably gonna get shipped off to get some American Holly grips put on them.

Hope your Christmas is great as well,

Branding Iron Bill

As of today, I am now the proud owner of a brace of 44 Colt C. Mason 1860 Army revolvers from Taylor's.  These  are my first conversions, and I'm liking them a lot.  Beautiful workmanship cosmetically speaking, but the actions feel rough as a cobb.  So now I have some work to do.  But that's part of the fun.

So please sign me up.  I have a few questions, but I'll ask elswhere, as I don't want to hijack this thread.
