Well here is my plan And I figgured this out by myself . I started with the 72 Open Top in .44 Colt's ,but I need a .38 in the 1851 navy with 5-1/2 barrel. Then I can get the one I realy like the best, the Richards& Mason transition mdl. Army grip in .44 Colt's .Could not start with that one ,heck then I would have had no reason to buy the others .  Sounds like a plan.....Dusty.

Howdy Gus, pleased to meet you.  Sounds like a nice mess of sidearms.  Looking at a .38 now myself . . .the '51 pattern although I would take the OT.

Cheers pard!

Hello folks,
By the way, as you can see, this is my first post; just joined.
I think I may qualify for the STORM Group.
I'm just starting Cowboy Action Shooting, and for now I'll use my Ruger New Vaqueros.
By accident, I started to collect some STORMs.
I have 2 Pietta 1851 Navies, .44 and .36; and an Uberti 1851 Navy in .36.
As for the cartridge open tops, I have an Uberti RM 1851 Navy with 7.5" barrel in .38; an Uberti RM 1860 Army with 5.5" in .38; an Uberti Open Top Early Model with 5.5" barrel in .38; a Cimarron Firearms (Uberti) 1851 Navy Man With No Name with 7.5" barrel in .38.
I decided to stick with .38 as I have a bunch of .357s anyway.

My name's Jordan Goodwin, I go by Capnball on most forums (yeah, I know-original, ain't it?). Some of y'all may remember me. I'm also a member of the SSS, as I owned a .56-50 Scpencer Carbine at one time (sold it out of necessity, WANT ANOTHER eventually). I am an ACW reenactor, blackpowder nut, and amateur BP gunsmith and BPC reloader. I'm not into CAS- yet. ;D Maybe when the budget gets a little more loose. I absolutely love anything that goes BOOM and makes plenny o' smoke. I've owned numerous repros of Colt's Revolving Pistols, from Walkers to Pockets, and love them all. Unfortunately, I'm so poor, I've always had to trade for the next one, so to speak. Anywho, I think my favorite all-around holster gun is the 1860 Army, followed by the Dragoons and Walker. One thing: I've never owned a cartridge pistol, although I've worked on and shot a few. I want an open top or conversion so bad- I dream about them!

Howdy CasCity STORM,

Been looking around, seems like this is the place to be,  I was an advid WW2 minded collector for quite a while and got up to 4 rifles, life has changed and now have two.

But somewhere along the way, I sold that enfield at a show, made the mistake (?) of walking around, feasted my eyes on a bit used 1894 30-30 Win  wrangler hoop and 16" barrel.  Sure didnt need it but wanted it, I bought it.  Then I began to wonder how that rifle came about,  thus my 1866 Uberti (that I paid for by selling a 1966 357 Colt Python 4" Nickel!  Yep, thats right!)  and now my love of the 1851 history and look, it may only be a MWNN, but I love these pistols, great shooters,  Like to join here, if that qaulifies!?
For proof I Added the only pic of me I have with it, was from my Honeymoon this spring! Ha!

I would like to come in out of the cold.  Have a pair of OT's and have been shooten them a while now.
one is a 7.5 armygrip   the other is a 5.5 navygrip   both in 44colt/russian.   as I managed to grab 1000 russian
cases that is what I shoot the most, but do have 300cases of .44colt.    these are fun and accurate revolvers
and with a small amount of Claydot powder economical to shoot. as I shoot duelist/double duelist the 5.5 navy
is for my left hand; it don't miss much either.

Lefty Dude

After lurking & posting here for several years, I believe it is time I "Join Storm Here".

I shoot Frontiersman in CAS/SASS, using my 1860 or 1851 Pietta's, my Rifle is Uberti 73 Carbine in 44WCF. I shoot a 12 ga. SXS with all brass shells loaded with the Holy Black.

I like Open Tops and the original powder.

How do I join! I'm shooting two 1871-2's with 7.5 inch barrels and just changed one to a 5.5 inch barrel. it had problems so it hasn't been shot much. I do have a C Mason in .44 speical and IJ've worked on the barrel and cylinder clearance for a month now. I think I have it fixed. "O" the two 71's are .44 special also.  I'm going to go to 4.3 gr.s of TB with my loads and a 210gr. bullet. I was looking for the right guns to go with my pedersoli .44-40 pump rifle.  It doesn't look like that's going to happen now.   Dirty MacPill

Navy Six

I would consider it an honor to be a member of this illustrious group if accepted. The open top Colt design to me is the most beautiful pistols ever made. At current count (among my cap & ball collection) I found 23 models about equally divided between Colt and Uberti. Am doing my best to acquire more. Besides, look at my name.  Sincerely,  Navy Six
