I have a belt blank and want to dye it with Kiwi Scuff Color brown liquid polish.  It comes out the perfect color for what I'm doing.

NOW, will it work, will it bleed onto other leather or fabrics, will it fade (I hope it does a bit), and will it be too shiney?

I'm looking for a sightly uneven mottled antique look.

Can you trim off an inch of the blank to experiment with? That may answer all your questions.

If you seal it with Bag Kote, Super Sheen, Satin Sheen, or some other finish, you should be okay. It sounds like the Satin Finish would be more of what you're looking for.
For an uneven look, try blotting different places, let dry, and then apply a more even coat.

I'll give those things a try.  Where do I get Bag Coat?  I have some Super Sheen (?), but it's a lot shinier than I like.

Tandy used to have Bag Coat, but now they have Tan Coat, (I was thinking Tan Coat), which seems to be similar. They also have Satin Sheen, which isn't as shiny as Super Sheen, but gives the same protection.

Forty, if the super sheen is too shinny, try the SATIN SHEEN, it will be more to your liking, it will give you the same protection , I use SKIDMORES, LEATHER CREAM after for added protection and nourishment to my leather.

First application of color is on and looks marvelous. One more will do the job.  Got Satin sheen and will likely apply it Saturday.
