I am working on finishing up my third holster on the machine, and ever.  I haven't had any trouble really.  The first didn't turn out, and mostly that was trying to run Ghormley's patterns without having made the necessary, at least for me, alterations for running a machine on a hand pattern.  The second has turned out great, and I am pushing through 2 Dukes now.  The machine is effortless to use.  I haven't really had a learning curve issue.

I haven't made a cartridge belt.  The Bianchi tapes spend most of their time on the belt.  I didn't understand one aspect of the cartridge loops.  He seems to be using just one stitch length, and yet it seems impossible that the stitch length would be both perfect for the belt loop height and the spacing between loops.  Particularly for different cartridges, and different potential material weights.  It is possible to stretch out a stitch, and particularly if one has needle positioning, but he doesn't appear to be doing anything unusual.  He is usuing the left right foot.

I have actually made a lot of stupid little goofs.  I normally do not make mental errors on craft stuff.  I have done so many different crafts.  But I have done quite a few stupid things.  One was not to change the foot when I sewed the left side holster.  I actually sewed OK for the first few inches...  Then I had to run it backwards the rest of the way...

You can see my first effort on the left.  A flames of hell pattern, but not lined.  Just a practice piece that seemed to be going OK for a while, but the closing wreaked everything.  The stitch line bent off to the side of the welt.

The middle holster turned out OK, just a pattern making exercise, started life as a Flames of Hell also, but a lot modified, still has a way to go.

The duke is doing OK so far.  The edges still need work.  The band isn't right.  So that is basically a one holster learning curve.

I'm using up some cheap leather Tandy had on sale.

Thanks.  Means a lot coming from you, Outrider.  I do feel we should forward all praise to Steve.  The machine sews by itself.

Those are literally my first holsters ever, my second and my third in progress.  You can see how badly the first one turned out, and bam, the problem was taken care of on the next one.  These machines are so good these days that it is that easy.  I think most of the credit goes to the motors.

Lookin' good, pard. You sure took to that machine fast. Thanks for sharing.

Looking good, Massive. I am slowly conquering the machine and the pattern making. As soon as I get into the workshop I am going to stop the tinkering and build some straight up holsters like yours.
I have found that if I coat the stitching groove and the backside with saddle soap, I do not incur skipped stitches. That motivated me to buy a lube pot from Zack White. I have yet to install.
Keep up the nice work.

Thank you Will and Red for your kind comments.

I was planing on selling some holsters for about 39.95, but there is a fair amount of work involved.  LOL
