Hi there Rowdy

What exactly are you looking to do?

Rowdy Fulcher

Bear
I am wanting to replace the 20 inch barrel with a 30 inch barrel .

Michael Bear

The site is under maintenance right now. muzzleloadingforum.com
There is a couple of guys that made several good barrels for not too much money. As soon as it resores I will try to locate them if you want, or you can look yourself. I'm a member there and there was quite a bit of people recommending these guys. I know they were doing rifled barrels as their primary, but people have been happy with their shotgun barrels as well.

Hey Rowdy,

It has been a while but I have used Getz barrels to make a couple of muzzleloading shotguns.  At the time they were, in my opinion, the best barrels available.  They were very accommodating people.  Give them a call and tell them what you have in mind.

Good luck.  I love to see someone shooting an '87.

While at work today got to pondering on having the 20 inch barrel roll crimped to a X FULL . That would be faster than finding someone to replace with 30 incher ? And if it doesn't work to my satisfaction the a 30 for the fall season .

Rowdy,

Could I inquire as to where you found your 1887?

Thanks

Has anyone got there hands on a long barreled ( Norinco ) there is a rumor they were sent to Australia ??? What about it Aussie's

Michael Bear

Since you started this tread I was looking for one.  So far no luck. No luck at all. I may settle on SxS instead. Just can't find these darn things. Australia says you? Where is this coming from?  ;D

harleydavis

I just purchased a TTN SxS off GunBroker and find the need to cash out of one of my other toys. I have IAC 1887 12ga 20" barrel that I will be putting up for sale. SN 08-00XXX, purchased new, fired 25 rounds through it. Very accurate, I should probably keep it. Anyway, I paid $545 for it and I suppose I will ask $520. Shipping to FFL would probably run about $30. PM or email   hbdavis1876@msn.com if you have interest.
I remain, respectfully,

I just typed in his name and that came up . I don't know a thing about him , but someone has a beef with him .

sharps1863

It seems this guy does have a beef with him. Noticed Caps web site is down for Maintenance too. I have never had any dealings with him myself. So I can only go with what other people state and my understanding he had a good reputation working on Model 87 Norinco's. Which I do have experience with since I own one.  It is one of the last ones that was imported and it does not have the 2-drop conversion loading. They had discontinued it on their later model shotguns. But other than that I have not had any problems with it. It is just not a good Cas Gun without the 2-drop system.
