I understand that the Hubbard Museum of the American West in Ruidoso NM has or had the shoulder holster worn by Val Kilmer in the movie Tombstone in it's collection. Could a New Mexico pard confirm this and possibly get some detailed pics of the holster?

I can't help you out with the request, however thought I would pass along that the newest Leathercrafters and Saddlers Journal has a pattern and pics for a Doc Holiday holster (Huckleberry rig) that may not be  exact but is pretty close to the Val Kilmer rig.

Camano Ridge,

Cool, thanks for the info compadre. Is the pattern in the March/April issue? Took a look at the Leathercrafters and Saddlers Journal website, and they are still showing the January/February issue as current has a pancake holster pattern.

Heard back from the currator of exhibits at the Hubbard Museum. He said the holster was part of a collection that had been loaned to the nuseum for an exhibit that took place over 4 years ago  by Peter Sherayko ( the actor who played Texas Jack Vermillion in the movie Tombstone) He gave me the following link for Mr. Sherayko's production comapny : http://www.caravanwestproductions.com/petersherayko/

Found a preview of the book  mentioned in his bio "Tombstone, The Guns and Gear" on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Tombstone-Guns-Gear-Peter-Sherayko/dp/1453626514
There is a pic of the holster on page 17 and some info as to the designers of the holster

I am attempting to contact Mr. Sherayko and see what further info I can obtain regarding the holster.
