I need some help , I bought a, I think it was a Navy Arms Reb Revolver back in the late 70s or early 80s .I have since lost the box and cant recall what it said more than Reb Revolver. I think it is a replica of a Griswold & Gunnison. It is a brass frame half round barrel 36 cal . and a good shooter . I will post pic. and if one of y'all can identify it I would be Obliged ......Dusty

You bet MJn77 It look's jest like that one except the grip look's like a 1851 navy Colt on mine not the flared one in the Cabellas pic. Kinda like Major 2  did to his 1851 defarb.I'll post a pic  tomorrow when I can get outside in the sun.......Dusty.

If the grips look more like the Colt than the Pietta; it's more thsn likely a Uberti Griswold and Gunnison repro that was imported by Navy Arms.

Why doesn't Pietta have their navy grip shaped right? Seems like that would be a simple fix.

Here is the photo. of what I think may be a replica Griswold&Gunnison I Put my 36 pocket next to it for compare .Can Y'all tell me what you think. Besides the Italian proof mark .It has a (AD) in box.Under the barrel it has COM .

The hammer spur seem's to be bobed compared to the other replicas I have ,it dont roll back any. And I bought the gun new so it came that way.May be a flaw ?

One more of other side .....Dusty

Cliff Fendley

It's a close copy of a G&G. The G&G didn't have the engraving on the cylinder though.

I was hoping that is what it was Cliff . I wish that engraving was on mi 1851 and not on the G&G. Thought that was some Italian BS. Probably made one cylinder for all replicas at that time. Recon it's a Pieta ?. I cant remember....Dusty

I'm going to do a bit research...

Its true the Grip does not have the Pietta tail , but the engrave Cyl. is from an Navy don't think Uberti ship the G&G with the engraved Cyl.

The [AD] is 1978   May be a Euro Arms  :-\

May be one of those gun's that never was Major2 . It has cal.36 navy model on the side of the round bbl. Remember the box was red .

Cliff Fendley

The current made Pietta G&G doesn't have the engraved cylinder nor as Major said it doesn't appear to have the Pietta grip. My guess is it's not a Pietta but I don't know what.

DHOOOO ! I was in hurry and mis-read it
I corrected myself [AD] 1978  ::)

So you are correct

I'm sticking with Euroarms though and the red box is more proof  :)

AD is the date code for 1978.  COM is a manufacturer from the early days of the repro industry that has yet to be positively identified.
