What do they call that "thing a ma jig??

I'm making one of the military style holsters for the 1911 model from Will's patterns - making it for a friend that recently got one of the new 1911-22s  (well, I got one too   ).   I'm making his holster (left handed) so that he can carry it on the standard web pistol belt.

What is the name for the metal wire fastener that attaches the holster to the grommet holes on the web pistol belt - the wire attachment that is on the standard issue 1911 holster and other web pouches?  I finally had to buy a cheap machete canvas scabbard at the Army Surplus store and destroy it for the wire attachment.  Ended up getting it at a place in Tucson. The guy said they used to carry them by themselves but haven't had any in  long time - probably all of this new fangled nylon stuff with velcro is making them obsolete?

I'd like to locate a source for these that could be purchased in small quantities - say 25 or so but I don't even know what to call them in order to do a search for them.  Anyone out there know the proper name?

Or better yet - anybody that can steer me to a supplier?

Thanks fellas - greatly appreciated!  I've bookmarked both links - the fellow on eBay has them in quantities of 4 at a decent price so will probably order some from there - will check to see if I can purchase them from him in a larger quantity.

I had to give $2.50 for the machete scabbard and cut the hook off of it for my friend's holster so guess it was in the ballpark price wise.

From my tiny miniscuole reading on the topic, it would appear that the original hangers were made of some sort of brass or bronze rod, which would make sense in order to provide corosion resistance. There also appears to be some difference in "correct size" for at least two different belt versions.

Not having served in the military, I have always been mystified by the correct manner to put the thing on a web belt, my poor ancient eyes and brain become confused by the apparent origami involved and soon I think my web belt and accouterments look like an Escher stairway print:

Some Desperate Folks have made their own from mild steel rod stock, heavy hobby "music wire", drill rod, or brazing rod. Whilst a relatively simple shape, the the "correct order"  of bends adds to the complexity.
