In this video I'll be shooting a replica of Remington's model 1866 revolving rifle. The replica is a carbine made by Uberti and imported by Taylor's & Company. The Remington revolving carbine is a .44 caliber, cap and ball weapon based on Remington' New Model Army pistol, often erroneously called the 1858 Remington.

   Greetings!

These really ARE neat little carbines, and quite accurate! Guess that I'll have to dig mine
out of mothballs, and "smoke it", again! Great Video!

Nice video! What are these like at longer range? I imagine the two hand grip will make accurate shooting at longer distances a bit of a challenge.

Things that make you go "hmm....".

I've been lusting after a Spencer but this fellow might be just the ticket, and more affordable to boot!  Would it be legal in NCOWS?  I believe SASS specifies "lever action", but the only thing I could find in the NCOWS tally book said "repeating rifle", which this seems to be.  It wasn't on the approved list, but neither was it on the disapproved list.

thanks,

Sure, but it will be a few months before I can get to it.

This is slightly off topic here, But I noticed in the movie you did on "Double Action Revolvers of the Old West", you didn't mention Iver Johnson revolvers.  You did mention that there were other double actions, but you never mentioned them in particular. Not to complain or anything, just an observation.  If you ever feel like doing one on them though, I have one you could use.  To quote "Kung Fu Panda," 'Your awesome, last thing I'm gonna say."
