And here we have it!  You can tell that this guy is trying VERY hard to like his new gun.  Lots of excused to cover the lack of performance.

Watch the video all the way through.  After a certain amount of frustration with the ZiP he switches to a Ruger 22/45 (threaded barrel model) which performs perfectly with the ammo he is using.  He then gives the ZiP another try.

Note:  Apparently the folks at USFA are saying that the spring in the Ruger BX-25 magazine is not strong enough to "keep up" with the cycling speed of the ZiP and that they are working on a fix for this.  I, for one, find this a little hard to swallow.  I have a couple of BX-25 magazines and they function flawlessly in my 10/22, which will fire just as fast as you can pull the trigger (and with a Hornet 2.75 lb. trigger that I installed, I'm guessing that it fires a hell of a lot faster than the ZiP).

This is my first look at the ZiP, won't need another. Not only is it stupid looking, it looks uncomfortable to hold in the hand and is apparently a non-running POS.

Here is a bit more in the way of an independent review;

Never thought I would be spending so much time bashing USFA!  The really sad part is that the future of USFA could hang upon the success or failure of the ZiP.  Failure could well be the death knell of any reintroduction of the SAA line.  If the ZiP factory goes under, what little remains of the SAA facility is sure to follow.

Gen. Jackson

Watched the video and read the other page you provided the link to.

This is going to be a massive failure. The Ruger performed flawlessly with the same ammo, and serves to evidence the unreliability of the Zip.

To tell you the truth, seeing USAA's multiple bizzare inventions, I would not buy an SAA Model P from them even if they restarted production and sold them for $100 dollars a piece. Probably the most overrated company in the history of firearms.

That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

Oh man I might have to get one.  I will attach it to my AR-10, so when I am in the middle of defending my family, I can shoot at mice trying to enter the house.

Mouse maybe, not mice.

Capt. John Fitzgerald

Good one, Stu! ;D

Another point of interest...  The ZiP has a life expectancy of 2500 round?  At 2500 you have to replace the striker springs, striker rod, and block/bolt (which, apparently, is made of plastic).  On the plus side, it looks like it would take a VERY long time to go through 2500 rounds.

UPDATE:  Here is yet another Youtube review.  At least this guy eventually had some success with the standard Ruger 10 round magazine.
